MoCo & PG Co. MD to Reinstate Indoor Mask Mandates

Dear Members,

Earlier today both Montgomery and Prince George's Counties have announced that indoor mask mandates will be reinstated this weekend.

Montgomery County's mandate begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7. Prince George's mandate begins at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8.

While Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said he won’t impose a statewide mask mandate, state employees working in congregate settings will have to show proof of vaccination beginning Sept. 1.

As of the time of this writing, Montgomery and Prince George's join Washington, DC as the jurisdictions currently reinstating a mask mandate. Other local jurisdictions are encouraging masks as COVID cases continue to rise throughout the region, but there are no additional mandates as yet.

As always, we will continue to keep you updated if these guidelines change in the future. We also continue to encourage your employees to take advantage of the highly-effective vaccines that are available, without appointment, at numerous locations across our region.

Sincerely,

John O'Donnell
