Mobile Walking Safaris Sleep—Until Next Season

Another Mobile Walking Safari season has come to an end, and once again it has proven why this experience stands apart in today’s safari landscape.

In a very remote part of South Luangwa in Zambia, far from lodges, roads, and the hum of modern life, the wilderness feels untouched: no crowds, no vehicles, just the quiet sound of the bush and the freedom of walking in the Mupamadzi area.

This experience is something different: space, silence, and a responsible way to connect with nature. Walking in the pristine wilderness, tracking elephants on foot, while the camp moves with you and falling asleep under canvas is more than just an adventure, it nurtures all your senses.

The campsites provide a serene, intimate setting with only three or four walk-in tents, where you can choose between a snug camp cot with mattress or just a mattress. There’s no electricity or running water, yet you’ll enjoy hot showers daily, delicious meals prepared in our open-air bush kitchen, and freshly baked treats, luxuries you wouldn’t expect in such a truly remote corner of the wilderness. Beyond this, there is nothing manmade in sight only untouched landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see.

At the helm of this operation, safely guiding our guests through this untouched landscape are two of the most experienced walking guides in the Luangwa: Jason Alfonsi and Kanga Banda. They’ve been leading this off-the-beaten-track safari for decades and know the Mupamadzi like the back of their hand. And with the support of our incredible staff, affectionately known as the A Team, a Mobile safari is pure magic from start to finish.
