MPO REWIND
The BTactical Lake Ridge installation was a success! You may now see pretty birds flying along NE 15th avenue in the freshly painted protected bike lanes. The Broward MPO partnered with the City of Fort Lauderdale and the Lake Ridge Civic Association to address multimodal safety, accessibility, and connectivity. During the four-day installation, volunteers of all ages helped paint striped bike lanes, curb extensions, crosswalks, asphalt art, and plant lush landscaping to further enhance the pedestrian experience and connect the Lake Ridge Community!
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis rolled up his sleeves to help paint the bike lane crossing at NE 11th Street and NE 15th Avenue.

On the second day of the BTactical installation, local and state elected officials helped kick off the day with their support of the quick-build project. During the hour-long morning event Gregory Stuart, Broward MPO Executive Director, Dean Trantalis City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor, Steven Glassman City of Fort Lauderdale Commissioner, and Michael Albetta Lake Ridge Civic Association President thanked the Federal Government for funding received through the Infrastructure Investvemt Jobs Act (IIJA). The BTactical Lake Ridge installation is one of the few ways the Broward MPO is using IIJA funds to increase the quality of life for those who live, work, and play in Broward!
