Notes from the Director's Desk | August 2018
There is excitement as well as the usual busy-ness in the air at your Memphis office of Worldwide Mobility.

We're excited because we're looking forward to our next mission trip, which will take us to Haiti in early February (see story below). And we're busy just because we always seem to be busy doing God's work to help people in desperate need for mobility in their lives.

As always we appreciate your thoughts, prayers and, when able, your monetary gifts to us of any amount.

Speaking of gifts, one of our newer board members had a birthday recently.  Julie Vukadinovich, a physical therapist at HealthSouth, asked people coming to her party to give a donation to Worldwide Mobility - Memphis, instead of a gift to her.

Julie's generous idea raised more than $300.
Happy birthday, Julie!

As always, I love to hear from you. And we appreciate you all.

Mark Griffy,
Executive Director, Mobility Worldwide - Memphis

Join us in Haiti,
February 5-10, 2019

Have you ever thought about going on a mission trip to Haiti? Well your chance is quickly approaching! Join Mobility Worldwide - Memphis in Haiti next year as we share the gift of mobility. In collaboration with our distribution partner, Foundation for Peace, we will distribute mobility carts to those in need over a period of 5 days.

Worship in fellowship with the people of Haiti, submerge yourself in a Creole language lesson, even practice your Creole with Haitians in a laid-back environment as they practice English! The cost of the trip is your own airfare to Port-au-Prince, plus $790 per person for island transportation, lodging, food, security, staffing, translation and other costs. A valid passport is required and a $10 entrance fee will be charged to travelers upon arrival. For more information, visit our website.

Can't make the trip? Don't worry, there's still a way to help! Every container of mobility carts we send to Haiti costs our small nonprofit organization $5,000. We depend on donations to make this work happen. To make a monetary gift, click here. Every gift is appreciated, no matter the amount.

This year marks the 25th anniversary for Mobility Worldwide, and 8 years of making carts in Memphis. Please join us as in spreading the love of Christ and sharing the gift of mobility. For more information on this trip, contact mission trip coordinator Mark Bogan,  (901) 337-0223, or contact Mark Griffy, executive director of the Memphis affiliate,  (901) 921-5586.
Generous gifts of time, talent and money
Make the gift of mobility real for people

What does it take to ship a full container load of Mobility Carts from our shop in Bartlett, Tennessee to Port-au-Prince Haiti?

It takes money and more.

Countless volunteer hours go into building the carts, running our shop, administering our agency and telling our story around the Mid-South. Additionally, we must meet a cash cost of $5,000 for the actual shipment. On top of the $5,000 we must have $1,000 more to pay for the substantial boxes each cart is shipped in so that they can make the long journey in fine working condition.

We raise money in various ways throughout the year in order to make shipments to Third World nations where there are so many people who need the gift of mobility in their lives - to be able to go to school, to work, to church.

This is why we periodically remind our friends how much a donation of any size can help. A donation by check can be sent to our executive director Mark Griffy at Mobility Worldwide, Post Office Box 26, Ellendale, Tennessee, 38029. Or, a donation may be made via Paypal by visiting our web page. Just click on the DONATE NOW button.

And don't forget: all donations are tax-deductible.
