Modernizing Oregon's recycling system
In 2017, Oregon’s recycling system was heavily impacted by disruptions in international recycling markets. After two years of collaboration, Oregon’s Recycling Steering Committee has recommended an innovative, shared responsibility framework that addresses many challenges in our decades-old recycling system and creates a more effective, stable and resilient system for the future. Check out this fact sheet for more details.
PPE Recycling
Does your facility use large quantities of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as nitrile gloves that currently go in the garbage? Check out the Kimberly-Clark Professional PPE recycling program. These hard-to-recycle items are collected at your facility and turned into new consumer goods.

Turning off the lights is (great) for the birds!
Taking steps to decrease the amount of light emitted by buildings can minimize unnecessary bird deaths, save money by reducing energy consumption, and support your organization’s sustainability goals. Audubon’s Lights Out program is a national effort to reduce bird fatalities due to light pollution during migration. The strategy is simple: Convince building owners and managers to turn off excess lighting while migrating birds are flying overhead. This helps provide safe passage between their nesting and wintering grounds.
