The Blooming Grove Post Launches:
A New Voice for Local Journalism
The Blooming Grove Post, a new community newspaper, launched this month with a mission to document the people, places, and events of Blooming Grove. Its aim is to preserve the town’s history while fostering community connection.
Inspired by the legacy of The Orange County Post, which served Blooming Grove for decades before ceasing publication in 2022, The Blooming Grove Post fills the void left in local reporting. Assemblyman Brian Maher supported the project with a grant. The BG Post provides opportunities for aspiring journalists to develop their skills while engaging with their community.
“The Blooming Grove Post is a testament to our town’s commitment to preserving its stories,” said Carol McCrossen, Director of the Moffat Library of Washingtonville. “Thanks to Assemblyman Maher and our volunteers, we’re creating something meaningful for our community.”
Residents are encouraged to contribute stories, photos, or volunteer. High school students in grades 10-12 are invited to join and gain hands-on journalism experience.
