In 2013, UCSF researchers discovered that an antihistamine could repair myelin, the protective insulation around nerve fibers that is damaged in multiple sclerosis. But more evidence of a direct connection of myelin repair was needed.

In a first-of-its-kind study, researchers from UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and NORC at the University of Chicago found that families that are eligible for Medi-Cal and receive seed funding for college for their newborns are healthier, less stressed and more likely to aspire to education and college for their child.
Relocation of Staff Entrance to Moffitt-Long Hospitals Begins Feb. 27: Construction work is about to begin in the Emergency Department ambulance bay area, where the current staff entrance to Moffitt-Long Hospitals is located.
