Mojo the Father of Stray Dogs with his rescuer Brett Cole. | | WARNING. Graphic real life images below. | | |
Greetings!
While some people call me the Father of the Animal Rights Movement in the U.S., I want to introduce you to Mojo, the Father of Stray Dogs - as told by famed photographer Brett Cole:
Mojo was found in the middle of a street.
His scalp was torn open, his face soaked in blood, one eye swollen shut, and his head covered in raw, infected tissue and maggots.
The worst part?
People were walking by him like he was not even there.
| | Mojo was scary-looking and he smelled strongly of rot and death. | | |
When I asked a man, "Why isn't anyone helping?" -- the man just laughed.
Another man shrugged his shoulders and said there was an animal hospital five minutes away, but still no one did anything.
| | |
Because of all the maggots on his scalp, it was clear that Mojo had been in this condition for weeks.
The smell of infection clung to him, and still, no one helped.
But Brett tried.

Brett chased Mojo through narrow alleys and empty backyards.
Mojo ran away from everyone because he knew what happens when a street dog tries to get close to people.
Instead of helping, people pulled their children away, while others raised their hands to hit Mojo.
Mojo kept trying to push his way into homes, something no street dog does.
He went door to door until he collapsed, defeated.
I will stop here, because the rest is too depressing.

I wish I could say Mojo was the only one suffering.
The truth is, there are millions of Mojos on the streets around the world, born into suffering and forced to survive among people who have no intention of helping.
Many are hit by cars, beaten, poisoned, while some are purposefully crushed to death in the back of garbage trucks.
| |
Most die without ever knowing compassion, peace, or even a hint of kindness.
Worse yet, the next generation is being born right now -- into the same suffering.
| A new generation of Mojos are being born into suffering. | |
We cannot erase Mojo’s suffering.
But we can honor Mojo by taking action to stop the suffering.
This is why we are developing a one-time, permanent-lasting edible birth control Cookie -- to bring an end to the global overpopulation problem and end the cycle of suffering.
When eaten, the Cookie will safely spay or neuter a homeless dog or cat without surgery.
| The Cookie will help end the cycle of suffering. | |
Our work to develop a permanent lasting birth control Cookie is work that should be done by the drug companies.
But the big pharmaceutical companies refuse to help - so we have to do it ourselves.
It's true: a single drug company executive, is paid more than our entire organization's operating budget for an entire two years.
And yet, we are doing their job — because too much suffering is at stake.
We need your help to finish developing the Cookie.
We are closer than ever, but cannot finish it without you.
| |
With a successful one-time permanent lasting birth control cookie, the Mojos of the world will not have to suffer.
With your help, we will stop the suffering before it begins
| Every animal deserves to be happy like Pilot Pup Amari, who we rescued. | |
We can do this!
With your help, we can achieve this life-saving breakthrough!
