Recent Deft* research shows promising potential to improve the relationship between digital literacy and healthy outcomes.

Members who reported that their insurer had an online portal were half as likely to have health risks than those who don't have a portal available.
The study reported a correlation between usage of a portal and likelihood of obtaining vaccinations.
The long-term benefits of a member portal include improved member satisfaction, higher retention and increased rate of in-network care.

But the Deft study also found that one-third of Medicare Advantage members don't even know if they have a digital portal with their MA plan - which means we have work to do.
