On-Line Personal Essay Boot Camp
A 5-day on-line workshop in which you'll learn to cut paragraphs in half,
add sensory detail, get to the point, juice up your language,
and make your writing sound like you.
November 3-7, 2013. Tuition: $297
Do you have things to say but don't know where to start?
Are you yearning to write but don't know what about?
Do you want to start a blog, send an op-ed to the paper, begin a memoir - for the world or for your grand kids - write that secret novel in your head?
Join us for this 5-Day On-Line Intensive!
I'll teach you to write short, complete essays that can be used alone or strung together into many configurations: blog post, memoir, novel, non-fiction book, political argument, humor column, book review, radio commentary.
This workshop will also be helpful if you're writing business content in the new "authentic is everything" entrepreneurial style. Jazz up your marketing copy, social media posts, newsletters, even non-profit thank you notes!
Working together via e-mail, you'll write one two-page essay a day for five days and be critiqued by me and another participant. Assignments are due by midnight in your time zone, so you don't have to be on-line at a particular hour.
The workshop takes some time, but you can do it while holding down your job, raising your kids, etc. Just don't run a marathon or schedule a big dinner party this week.
If you have questions about what we'll be doing, or are ready to sign up, drop me a line at the e-mail address below. I'd love to hear from you.
