Dear Mom,

In some good news this week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced he is lifting the statewide mask mandate and allowing all businesses to open fully. On the day that also marks Texas's independence from Mexico and the creation of the Republic of Texas in 1836, our Texas moms had a reason to celebrate.

At Moms for America®, we have heard from so many mothers struggling to make ends meet in this past year of shut-downs, violence, and unrest. I know many of our moms can relate to Governor Abbott when he said, "Too many Texans have been sidelined from employment opportunities. Too many small business owners have struggled to pay their bills. This must end. It is now time to open Texas 100%."

The same goes for every city and town still struggling to survive under restrictions that have gone too far. As we have said from the beginning, moms know how to protect their families and will do what it takes to remain safely open. Many of our husbands have faced unemployment or underemployment and some of our children have lost an entire year of school.

We applaud Governor Abbott for his commonsense action and encourage other leaders to follow. This week, we are contacting our local leaders and representatives to urge mommy-sense policies and fully reopening our society.

Contact your mayor today to urge them to end the mask mandates and lock-downs. Saving the Republic means working to ensure our government by the people and for the people protects our God-given rights.
