City Commission allocates $307,000 in STAR Fund Grants; MonDak Sports to expand

Williston Economic Development - The Williston City Commission has approved  up to $307,000 in STAR Fund grants for projects in the Williston area. The projects include a new building for MonDak Sports and Pizza Hut. MonDak Holdings, LLC will receive up to $67,000 through the Flex PACE Buydown program to lower the interest on the project's loan. Owner Josh Kringen is purchasing a larger and more accessible site for MonDak Sports across from Scenic Sports on North Dakota Highway 1804. Read More

Williston School Board announces Proposed Building Projects


Williston Herald - As the deadline to call a special election in early January approaches, the school board for Williston Public School District No. 1 is working to find a plan that the public will approve. After originally hoping to have a bond referendum as part of the November General Election, the school board decided that more study was needed and set a new target of January for a special election. In order to meet that deadline, the board has to OK ballot language by the end of October. Read More

New Organization established for Royalty Owners in Williston Basin
Bob Skarphol held an organizational meeting for the Williston Basin Royalty Owners Association, a new group he hopes will help mineral owners get better treatment from oil and gas companies. Williston Herald

But, he told the group of mineral royalty owners, if they hoped to change what they see as unfair deductions from their royalty checks, they need to work together and be patient. Read More
Watford City Entrepreneurs launch New App for Royalty Owners

Oasis celebrates Completion of New Natural Gas Processing Plant near  Watford City

Bismarck Tribune - Oasis Midstream Partners will celebrate Friday the completion of a natural gas processing plant, a highly anticipated project as North Dakota's oil industry works to reduce natural gas flaring. The Oasis Wild Basin II plant will add 200 million cubic feet per day of natural gas processing capacity, the first major plant completed in recent years in the Bakken. Oasis CEO Taylor Reid said Thursday the plant near Watford City is mechanically complete and will begin processing gas in November. Oasis began operating the first Wild Basin plant in 2016 to process 80 million cubic feet per day. "We figured out pretty quickly we were going to fill up that plant pretty fast," Reid said. Truck Traffic remains Very High on US Highway 85

Williston Economic Development - The Theodore Roosevelt Expressway has released the latest oversize/overweight permit comparisons as compiled by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The third quarter comparisons show the tremendous amount of truck traffic that continues to travel on US 85 (TRE) largely due to the oil and gas industry. TRE continues to work toward four-laning all of US 85 to make it safer and more efficient for all vehicles and travelers.


Promiseland Project to debut in Watford City Oct. 14

McKenzie County Farmer - On Oct. 14, a nationwide event that will be the first of 50 other similar events to be held across the country kicks off in Watford City, N.D. The Promiseland Project is coming to the Rough Rider Center bringing with it a full-size front porch set, a renowned marketing expert and a myriad of mysterious events.  Roy Spence, a marketing expert is taking on his biggest challenge yet - unifying America. On Sunday from 3-6:30 p.m., several folk bands will take to the stage at the Rough Rider Center, including North Dakota's own Tigirlily.
