Dear friend in Christ,
“Be thankful … singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:15
–16)
This is the time of year when gratitude is uppermost in our thoughts. The sisters are looking back gratefully to the celebrations in July: Sister Nina Lasceski's perpetual monastic profession and the festivities for our sisters who celebrated their Golden Jubilee, 50 years of monastic commitment.
We're also looking forward to more opportunities for gratitude in August, especially Gratitude Day, when we intentionally give thanks for all those who support the monastery's mission and ministries. You can be sure you will be in our grateful hearts that day, August 11.
This Friday, there will be time for more gratitude when all the sisters meet up for our annual Community Day. It's an opportunity to share time together and be grateful for the many blessings we experience as a community.
May God grant you many blessings and may you respond with a grateful heart.
Gratefully,

Meet Norie, the
Ramsey County Attorney's Office's
new facility dog. As a facility dog, Norie's role is to "provide companionship to adults and kids who are victims and witnesses to crime, helping ease the stress that comes with the court process." Norie has a special relationship with our community: her trainer used to bring her to Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel on Sundays.

On July 18, multiple Catholic organizations gathered in Washington, D.C., to participate in a solidarity prayer and action to call for an end to the inhumane treatment of immigrant children and families by the U.S. government. We joined their effort by using excerpts of their prayer during our noon prayer that same day.
