SURVEY FOR BUSINESS OWNERS
The Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and the DDA are concerned about you and your business as we all navigate uncharted waters with COVID-19.

Our goal is to understand and capture your business needs so we can be helpful in providing visibility into the vast array of resources being established as we speak at the local, state and federal levels. In addition, we strive to help coordinate informational resources between our government and our local business community, share information, and provide assistance to help maneuver through these times.

We are surveying business impacts to be able to communicate needs to local, state, and federal partners. In addition, we want to be able to direct you to appropriate resources if/when available.

We hope that through collective action, we can help ease the burden and make positive impacts together on our local economy.

Thank you for participating in this confidential survey, which should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Your individual responses will be kept anonymous however the summary data may be shared.
The Village of Elk Rapids and the Elk Rapids DDA are coordinating the Village response to the Munson Healthcare request for critical medical supplies.

The following new or unused, unscented items are being accepted:

  • Disposable face masks
  • N95 masks, sometimes called respirators
  • Eye protection including face shields and safety goggles
  • Disposable gowns
  • Disposable gloves, especially non-latex
  • Disposable surgical caps
  • Disposable foot covers
  • Wipes: bleach or antimicrobial
  • Hand sanitizer

Please assist us in supporting our local hospital system. Every donation is important even if it is just one box of gloves, booties or masks.
The drop off site will be the covered portico at the Government Center, 315 Bridge Street, Elk Rapids. There will be an identified container for the donated items. The drop off hours are 10 am-2 pm starting Fri March 27 at 10 am and ending on Fri April 3 at 2 pm.
If you would like to be recognized for your donation please text or e-mail me with your business name and items donated.

Thank you in advance for your generosity,
Christine Petersen M.D.

Village Markets Offering Curbside Service Only

During this crazy time, customer and employee safety is our number 1 priority…with that being said, the Village Market as of Monday, March 30, 2020 will be going to curbside service only from 9am-6pm. Even though the doors will be locked, the store is open. Our staff will be inside fulfilling your curbside orders. This is subject to change depending on how the virus moves through our area.

There are 3 easy ways to place an order for curbside pickup. Texting, email and lastly by voice.
Placing an order is simple. If you choose to send an order by text or email please include the item name, item size, quantity that you would like as well as your name and phone number. If product substitutions are permitted, let us know if our staff member can contact you while shopping to offer alternative options.

For orders that are 20 items or less you are welcome to leave your list on our Curbside Service Voicemail. Again, we need the item name, item size, quantity that you would like as well as your name and phone number. If you would like to place your order with a staff member please leave a message with your name and phone number and we will call you as soon as possible.

Once your order has been placed we will call to confirm we have received it, as well as arrange payment by credit card and schedule a pickup time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work the kinks out of this new service. Thank you for being a loyal VM customer!

At this time, Antrim County is in need of donations as part of a county-wide effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Antrim County will distribute resources to essential workers such as emergency responders, gas station attendants, grocery store employees, county workers, and other individuals who will work with the public for the duration of the Michigan State Stay in Place Executive Order.

If you are able to procure or make these items, please consider donating them to support Antrim County efforts:

·        N-95, N-100, and KN 95 masks
·          Homemade 100% cotton masks (patterns at makevictorymarks.org)
·          Gowns
·          Disposable gloves
·          Face shields
·          Hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol)
·          Disinfecting wipes
·          Contractor trash bags
·          Duct Tape
·          Rain poncho/raincoat

Donations will be accepted at the Antrim County Building, 203 Cayuga, Bellaire, MI 49615 at the drop box in the Southeast corner of the building. Please contact the Antrim County Logistics Section Chief at 231-533-3576 or szczypkak@antrimcounty.org if you would like to schedule for a county employee to pick up donations.

Thank you for your support at this time. When we work together at the local level, great things will be accomplished.

Note from Renee...........

Glenn and I are working at the store. Glenn is fixing things and I am making masks. If anyone needs anything we will take phone orders and place on hook by driveway. The call went out yesterday that Munson will take home made masks. Benzie Co. Human Services is desperate for them also. Anyone who wants to help let me know at Renee’s House of Quilting 231-267-5895. There are several really good patterns out there. My favorite is  http://www.onpoint-tv.com/quilters-against-vivid-19 . Nancy does an excellent job showing how to do these masks.
Here is a great local business to support via gofundme in 3D printing hospital grade masks:

Joann's has an offer here: If you would like to participate in making supplies, visit  joann.com/stores  to find a classroom near you. Tutorials are also available online at  joann.com/maketogive .
