MABE's 2024 Legislative Day Reception will provide a prime opportunity to discuss MABE's 2024 legislative priorities, and engage in lively discussions about lawmakers' perspectives and positions on education funding and other core policy issues.
Who is Attending?
Speaker of the House Adrienne A. Jones will be speaking, and we also have invited Governor Wes Moore, Senate President Bill Ferguson and Interim State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carey Wright. We expect many representatives from Maryland's 24 local school boards to attend this lively event, as well as State Board Members, Local Superintendents, State Senators and State Delegates.
Schedule:
From 5:00 - 6:00 pm we will enjoy networking, socializing, and food and beverages in the Atrium. Remarks will then take place in the Ballroom from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, with additional networking in the Atrium following (time permitting).
Parking
Valet parking is not available at the venue other than for disabled persons. Due to its location on State Circle across from the State House, parking close by the reception at the Governor Calvert House is difficult. However, the reception location is located close by the Hillman Garage and Gotts Court Garage in Annapolis. The Hillman Garage may be entered at 160 Duke of Gloucester or 150 Gorman Street, and the Gotts Garage is located at 25 Northwest Street. You may also wish to ride the Annapolis Free Downtown Shuttle (the "Circulator"), a free downtown shuttle which traverses West Street to City Dock every 5 to 8 minutes with stops at area garages.
