Tune in to I was just thinking... with Norma Adams-Wade Wednesday at 11 am. Her special guest will be broadcast, and social media host and producer Dr. Ester Davis will discuss latest developments in her crusade to bring attention to the emerging national movement known as Missing Black Girls. The movement strives to alert the public about the vastly under-reported crime of abductions -- and sometimes murders -- of adolescent, teen, and young adult African-American females across the nation. Davis will summarize new developments and future goals for the crusade…She also will bring us up-to-date about how pro boxing Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather and his new Mayweather Boxing Fitness Gym in Cedar Hill will benefit both African-Americans and the entire Dallas community. FAITHFUL UTTERANCES
Seek to Soar

So, when you are scared to fly, recognize that soaring is in your blood! Just remember to seek God before you try to reach the sky!

During a difficult season in my life, a friend asked me a very poignant question: How does an eagle get her birds to leave the nest? I had no response. She said eagles place rocks in the nest and remove the straw. In essence, they make it uncomfortable so that the fledging will soar. It’s interesting that God will often allow challenges to allow us to activate our faith. Yet, I believe our struggles shouldn’t become endless suffering.

Racial taunting nothing new in sports

Recent BYU incident highlights a longstanding problem

No one, no matter the cost of attending a sporting event, has the right to racially taunt anyone. However, such actions have been around probably since the Christians were targets of lions at ancient Roman games.

Neighbors are still reeling over flooding on this street; Dallas says it isn’t responsible

Residents say something was blocking drainage but the city points to historic rainfall as the culprit
By Andrew Little

Bulk trash and bent fences are reminders of the extreme flooding that deluged Alcalde Street in late August. Inside the Old East Dallas homes, other signs of the damage include removed portions of walls, buckling floorboards and missing furniture. Residents continue to clean and replace what they can and have been considering legal action against the city for the damage.

PORT-AU-PRINCE — Using tires, tree branches, concrete blocks and other objects, protesters in Haiti Tuesday constructed barricades in the middle of such major arteries as Rue Capois, Lalue, Canapé-Vert, Bois-Verna, Delmas, Bourdon and Pétion-Ville – paralyzing traffic and shutting down activities across the capital.
The Path

As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
