WHY: Time is running out! Holtec plans to announce their dumping plan in September/October unless we, together, stop this insanity.

We protest the irreparable damage Holtec plans to create in Cape Cod Bay. This greedy corporation’s plan protects its bottom line while the community is trying to protect the health of our families, the livelihoods of our coastal communities, the viability of fishing industries, and the habitat of marine life.

There is wide support for no dumping from elected officials, Cape Cod and South Shore communities, environmental, fishing, real estate, and indigenous groups. In addition, the state has authority to enforce regulations that Holtec agreed to abide by. Fishermen say they can’t even throw a gum wrapper off their boat without violating a regulation.

Yet Holtec still plans to dump their deadly garbage into the bay.

The spent fuel pool water will never be safe. Tritium is just one of the radionuclides that cannot be processed and will bioaccumulate in sediment, grasses, oysters, to the fish we eat. It will also release via the sea spray that covers our beaches. This cheap and dirty action highlights the fact that both our government and the nuclear industry still have no solution on how to manage nuclear waste and fail to protect us.
WE NEED A COMMITMENT FROM HOLTEC TO REMOVE THEIR DUMPING PLAN!

JOIN US ON MONDAY, JULY 25 to SPEAK OUT and STAND UP

Then attend the NDCAP meeting.

Holtec, dump in our bay? NO WAY!
