The FIRST day of school is Monday, July 31, 2023. We are excited to welcome our students back from summer break and prepare for a year full of teaching and learning.
Our 2023-2024 district’s theme is, “Excelling Beyond Barriers!” We are excited to join together to ensure that our students are equipped with the tools to be academically successful.
Each of you are an integral part of your child’s success and our district’s success. As a result, it is critical that attendance in school every day is an expectation. It is also important that students are prepared for learning, actively engaged in the lesson, and complete all assignments with fidelity.
First Day of School Reminders
- The first day of school for students is Monday, July 31, 2023.
- Safety is paramount and is of the utmost importance for staff and students. Every staff member, student, and visitor will enter through a metal detector and is subject to be searched while on the premises of JCSD.
- Prepare for traffic congestion. The first day of school is very exciting. Therefore, many parents will decide to drive their children to school. Please follow the traffic pattern, be patient, and watch out for children who are walkers.
- Go to Bed Early. Ensure that your child prepares for school the night before. It is very important that your child gets enough sleep so that he or she is attentive in school.
- Encourage your Child. Children thrive when they are encouraged and feel confident regarding who they are. Remain positive!
- Remain Patient. It will take time for everyone to learn the processes and/or get acclimated to establishing a routine. Therefore, expect longer wait times in the car line and possible late bus arrivals.
