2026 Summer Sports Registration

New to Special Olympics Virginia-Loudoun County?


There are two steps to register for participation in Special Olympics sports programs:

  1. Complete the online Athlete Registration & Participation Kit. It must be completed every year, and does not require a physician signature.
  2. Visit the Loudoun County Parks and Recreation Webtrac link on June 1 or later to search and register for your choices.

*Your Webtrac account email address is the same email your coaches use to communicate with you.**


Set your alarm! Some sports fill up very quickly!

Summer Sports Registration Information

Please review the skill descriptions below to determine which practice best suits your skill level.


Basketball - East/South

When: Saturday mornings

Where: Harper Park Middle School

Dates: June 27 and ending August 15. All programs are open to anyone ages 8 and up. 


Basketball Development Moderate and Advanced Skills - 9:30-11:00 AM

  • Athletes capable of scrimmaging with general adherence to basketball rules. Flexibility applied. Good mobility. Requires minor individual support. 


Supported Skills Development Basketball - 11:00 AM -12:00 PM

  • This is for beginners, those with limited mobility, or those with a lower understanding of basketball rules. Requires significant individual or small group support. 


Basketball - West - 1:00 PM -3:00 PM

When: Saturday afternoon

Where: Harmony Middle School

Dates: June 27 and ending August 15. 

Ages 8 and up. There will be advanced and intermediate level groups. Both will focus on endurance, scrimmages, and advanced skills.


Cycling Team and Developing Cyclists

When: Saturday, 8:15 - 9:15 AM

Where: in the parking lot at Trailside Middle School

Dates: June 13 to August 22 from

Ages 12 and up. Come learn the basics of the sport and/or develop skills to join our competitive cycling team. This program focuses on skill development and refinement. All skills levels are welcome! This program is hosted outdoors, and weather may impact practice dates.


Swimming - East

(Choose Wednesday OR Saturday session, not both)

When: Wednesday evenings, 7:00 - 8:00 PM

Where: Ashburn Community and Recreation Center

Dates: June 17 to August 19

Age 8 & up. Athletes must be able to swim across the pool in deep water without assistance independently. It is ideal for athletes who have already mastered their swimming skills and want to move into a more competitive environment.


Swimming - East

(Choose Wednesday OR Saturday session, not both)

When: Saturday afternoons, 2:00 - 3:00 PM

Where: Ashburn Community and Recreation Center

Dates: June 20 to August 15

Age 8 & up. Athletes must be able to swim across the pool in deep water without assistance independently. It is ideal for athletes who have already mastered their swimming skills and want to move into a more competitive environment.


Pickleball - Dulles South

When: Sunday afternoons,12:00 - 1:00 PM

Where: Dulles South Recreation Center

Dates: June 21 to August 16 from

Age 8 & up. Athletes of all abilities can play pickleball. It's a fun way to get in your daily exercise while making new friends. Due to space limitation, all athletes are required to commit to at least 75% attendance. If you are registering for Dulles South Pickleball, please do not register for the other Special Olympics Pickleball locations.


Topgolf

When: Monday evenings, 6:30 -7:30 PM

Where: Top Golf Ashburn

Dates: starting July 6- August 31

Ages 8 & up. Topgolf will have a max of 40 athletes and requires a minimum of 75% attendance. Priority will be given to those who have not previously enrolled in the Topgolf program and those who attend Topgolf sessions consistently.
