Holiday Retail Safety Tips!

As shoppers gear up for the season, unfortunately, so do criminals. A few simple precautions can make all the difference:

1. Stay Aware & Stay Alert: Be mindful of your surroundings and trust your instincts. Encourage staff to report anything unusual.

2. Secure Your Business: Lock all doors and windows, and ensure alarms are engaged every time—day or night.

3. Keep Cash to a Minimum: Avoid leaving cash in the safe overnight. Make regular bank deposits and consider going as cashless as possible.

4. Light It Up: Keep storefronts, back entrances, and key interior areas well-lit to deter unwanted activity.

5. Check Your Cameras: Confirm cameras are on, recording, and positioned at effective angles. Review footage periodically.

Member Anniversary

Celebrating 10 Years with the Lafayette Chamber!

Bay Area Festivals (BAF) has been in operation for 15 years, producing its own annual festivals and events, including Bay Area KidFest, Bay Area Springfest, Contra Costa Con, Bay Area Kids’ Book Fairs, Camp & School Fairs, Super Holiday Boutique, Valentine’s Boutique, and Mom’s Day Boutique. Additionally, they work with organizations to produce Walnut Creek Oktoberfest, King of the County BBQ and Music Festival in Martinez, and City of San Pablo 4th of July Multi-Cultural Celebration.

Chamber membership has provided BAF with exposure to the Lafayette and Lamorinda communities over the past decade for the myriad events their company produces in Contra Costa and around the greater Bay Area.

Former Lafayette Chamber Executive Director Jay Lifson got BAF involved with Lamorinda Presents when they first came on board, and they have benefited from all the work Chris Laszcz-Davis and the group have done since then. BAF president and founder, Jay Bedecarre and Jay Lifson, were very involved in rallying county event producers and organizations during the two years of the COVID pandemic.

Proceeds from this event will go to the filing fee for the Lafayette Scoop Foundation, a new 501(c)(3) committed to empowering, developing, and unlocking the leadership potential of our community's young people. See more event photos HERE.
