| | Families Flocked Downtown for Frightfully Fun Halloween Events! | | |
🎃Trick or Treat Street 2025: A Spooktacular Success!
Downtown Lafayette was full of festive spirit on Friday, October 24, as hundreds of little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses joined us for Trick or Treat Street! Families strolled Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette Circle, Lafayette Plaza, and La Fiesta Square, collecting goodies from local businesses which proudly displayed their “Trick or Treat Street” Chamber posters.
Thank you to all the participating merchants, our traffic control volunteers (Matt Pease, City Manager Niroop Srivatsa, Wendy Tamis, Diane Barbera, Mo McKenna, Boys Team Charity, and National Charity League), the Lafayette Police (Sargeant Filice, Officer Neil, and team), and Lafayette Public Works for making this event safe, fun, and full of Halloween magic — and to every family who came out in costumes to celebrate with us! 🧙♀️

🧙♀️ Witch Way to Mocktails 2025: A Bewitching Good Time!
Downtown Lafayette cast a spell of fun on Saturday, October 25, as shoppers sipped their way through Witch Way to Mocktails! Visitors donned costumes and plenty of festive spirit while sampling delicious signature mocktails crafted by participating Lafayette retailers.
A huge thank-you to all the local businesses who stirred up their creative concoctions and to everyone who joined us for this spirited afternoon of community, costumes, and mocktail magic!🪄
We loved seeing your costumes and can’t wait to raise our glasses again next year — cheers to another spellbinding celebration in Lafayette! 🍹

Business Seminar: From Vision to Action
You are invited to attend our November 14, 2025 Lafayette Chamber Business Seminar: From Vision to Action at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center in the Don Tatzin Community Hall (3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd). This 3-hour business seminar is free for all current Lafayette Chamber Members and is $30 for guests and non-members.
This interactive seminar will be broken into 3 sessions during which participants will learn how to create a compelling vision, translate it into an actionable growth plan, and use AI tools to accelerate execution.

Big Woof Pets Ribbon Cutting
Dogs and humans alike celebrated the grand opening of Big Woof Pets at their ribbon cutting on October 23!
Congratulations to Deanna, Melissa, and the entire team on this exciting milestone and their modern pet boutique and grooming spa focused on wellness from nose to tail—offering fear-free grooming, thoughtfully sourced food and treats, natural supplements, and eco-friendly gear.

Health & Wellness Alliance
The Health & Wellness Alliance is a new Lafayette Chamber initiative bringing together local professionals and businesses dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and community connection. This members-only group fosters collaboration and growth within Lafayette’s thriving wellness sector.
The group hosted their first meeting on October 21 and had an outstanding turnout! Thanks to Co-Chairs Katie Santos (Katie Santos Consulting-Fitness HR) and Jeremy Steel (Steel Chiropractic), and Oakwood Athletic Club for hosting.

Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program Compliance Reminder
Did you know it is mandatory for employers with 50 or more full-time employees in the Bay Area to register with the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program?
Even if an employer offers commuter benefits, to be in compliance with the Bay Area Air District’s Regulation 14, Rule 1, they are required to enroll in the program and update their registration annually. Employers can choose from five commuter benefit options:
- Pre-tax transit benefits
- Employer-provided subsidy for transit or vanpooling
- Employer-provided transit (such as shuttles)
- Telework one or more days a week

A custom plan that includes other modes like bicycling or walking, possibly combined with promotions that encourage alternates to driving alone and more
Enrollment in the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program is easy and free by visiting 511.org. You can call 510-285-3182 or email the team at commuterbenefits@511.org to get more information or confirm if your organization is registered.

Medicare Update & Enrollment Session: Contra Costa Senior Legal Services and HICAP will host an informational session at the Danville Senior Center on October 28, 10–11:30am, offering free legal services for seniors and guidance on Medicare updates and enrollment changes.
- Updated fall 2025 flu and COVID vaccines: now available at pharmacies and doctors’ offices across the region. Everyone 6 months and older is recommended to receive both vaccines, which are safe, effective, and help prevent severe illness and hospitalizations.
Nominations Open for the 48th Annual Humanitarian of the Year!
Each year, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors honors two Humanitarians of the Year:

A High School Student who inspires others by living out the values of kindness, justice, and leadership, and
-
An Adult who exemplifies Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy through service, leadership, and compassion.
The Humanitarian of the Year award recognizes individuals who bring people together, act for justice, and inspire others to make positive changes, whether through community work, advocacy, mentorship, or everyday acts of kindness.
