BIBLICAL FALL FEASTS PART 6

The Hebrew month of Tishri is the seventh month of God on the religious calendar for Israel, although observed as the first month of the civil (secular) calendar. Being the seventh month makes it a “sabbath” month in that most of the month involves special times of observance to God. This time runs from Tishri 1 to Tishri 22-23

The month corresponds to early September to early October on our Gregorian calendar. On the Hebrew calendar it runs as such:

·        Tishri 1           Rosh Ha Shanah (Feast of Trumpets)
·        Tishri 2-9        Days of Awe
·        Tishri 10         Yom Kippur (day of Atonement)
·        Tishri 15-21    Sukkot (feast of Tabernacles)
·        Tishri 22-23    Simchat Torah

The period of Tishri 1 to Tishri 10 is considered “High Holy Days.” Rosh Ha Shanah begins and it goes through Yom Kippur. The eight days in between are days of repentance and good works to make things right with both God and man.

This eight-day interval actually is known by at least four different names with each name having its’ own particular significance.

·        Days of Awe:             Giving reverence or “awe” to a Holy God
·        Days of Repentance:  A time to make things right
·        Days of Admitting:     Acknowledging what is not right in one’s life; sin, offenses, failures, etc.
·        Days of Returning:    Returning their focus or life back to God

There were certain aspects practiced by orthodox Jews that had a carry over into Christianity. One such practice was used by John the Baptist. Tomorrow we shall look at that.

Studying these things helps us to better understand our Christian faith. All the practices from the Old Testament have their fulfillment through Christ Jesus. Some have been fulfilled already and some have meaning to our present times and some will have future fulfillment. Without understanding of the Old Testament, our New Testament understanding is deficient. We must know the foundation upon which the “house of God” is built.

A REPROBATE MIND

The word reprobate as used in scripture means to be cast away, rejected, or worthless. In Romans Ch. 1 it talks about this. People that have been turned over by God to a reprobate mind have no recourse. The signs of a reprobate are a lifestyle of gross sin, contradictory to what the Bible says. Homosexuality is one of the gross sins, along with worshipping the creation more than the creator.

Whenever someone comes to that point there is no more than can be done. Many people are in deep sin but are sorry for their sin and repent. A reprobate is different. They have no guilt over their sin and when they have been turned over by God (verse 26) there is no coming back. Many have said it is wrong to judge, but the scriptures do not say that in Romans 1. In verse 20 it says, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” NO EXCUSES!

God does not want anyone to perish, but mankind are not puppets where God pulls their strings. This verse says that God reveals these things even through the creation of the world, but they chose not to follow God. Vs. 21 says, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified (praised) him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” A person in this condition has no desire to change. Their hearts have turned black. They have no regret for their sin and reject any acceptance of God.

In the days that we are living in, you can plainly see that many are in this condition. Their lives are full of the things mentioned in Romans 1:30, “unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whispers” and more. They have no remorse for their actions whatsoever, and often justify what they do by setting their own “moral” (immoral) standards.

Justice Ginsburg was one of them. She detested anything to do with God, and set the ungodly standards for women regarding lesbianism, abortion, and countless other sins. I have heard some Christians say they feel guilty that they did not witness to her, but it would not have done any good. When someone is in this condition, they detest anything to do with God’s principles. It is too late.

I witnessed to a woman once that was in her late 70’s. I asked her if she knew if she were to die if she would go to heaven. Her response was “I have lived this long without God, what do I need him for now?” She had rejected God and had become a reprobate. She will face God one day and be judged for her wrong choices.

It is up to us as Christians to be the witness for Christ to young people before they go down the wrong path. Our schools and colleges teach liberal ungodly agendas which are transforming our young people into future reprobates. Each of us can make a difference in a young person’s life. How sad to know that Ginsburg at 87 died not knowing Christ, but when she was younger, did she hear the gospel? Did anyone take the time to share the good news of Jesus Christ? We can make a difference. Are you willing to be one of those that do?

MY OFFICIAL RESPONSE TO THE DEATH OF R.B.G.

“Parts of the American Church have become so lukewarm that they would have tried to comfort Jezebel on a sickbed that GOD himself threw her on! (Rev 2:22) They would have highlighted her accomplishments over the years and found the good in her. They would have found ways to celebrate Hitler and King Herod- all in the name of false justice and an unbiblical definition of love.
Folks, I’m going to keep sounding the alarm as long as I have breathe in my lungs... Too many American Christians have created a god made in their own image and not the God of the Bible. And for all those living under delusional “New Covenant” false grace that prevents God’s justice and wrath from being active, please look over these Scriptures
1. John 3:36 The wrath of God is currently and continually abiding upon all those who reject Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
2. Acts 5:1-16 Ananias and Sapphira (believers) are struck down dead for lying to the Holy Spirit.
3. Acts 12:20-24 King Herod is struck dead by an angel of the Lord for not giving God glory.
4. Acts 13:8-11 Elymas the magician is struck blind “by the hand of the Lord” for being a fraud and son of the devil.
5. Romans 1:18-24 The wrath of God is revealed toward humanity by allowing them to reap what they sow. “Therefore God gave them over”.
6. 1 Cor 5:1-13 The immoral brother is judged and handed over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh.
7. 1 Cor 11:27-34 Believers are judged and become sick, some even die, for not judging themselves before partaking of the Lord’s supper.
8. Hymenaeus and Alexander were delivered to Satan for Blasphemy 1 Timothy 1:20
9. Jezebel is thrown on a bed or violent sickness and those who commit adultery with her into terrible suffering, unless they repent of her deeds. Furthermore, I [Jesus] will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve." (Rev 2:22 NET)
Ruth Bader Ginsburg ruled repeatedly on the side of infanticide, partial-birth infanticide, homosexual 'marriage' (and officiated homosexual 'weddings'), against religious liberties, and saw to it that the Supreme Court stopped dating their documents 'In the Year of our Lord.'
Ginsburg has now discovered that there is a court higher than the one called 'Supreme' and she does not sit in the seat of the judge, but as the defendant.
She will answer to a holy God who remembers every ounce of bloodshed she is responsible for and every act of abomination she approved of. The justice of God knows no delay, and the law of God knows no limits.”
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27)."
"...when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy" (Proverbs 11:10)
God will repay her according to the deeds she has done!
-Jeremiah Johnson
