THE GODHOOD OF JESUS – LESSON 5
JESUS IS “I AM”
We saw yesterday how God (Elohim) revealed Himself through the burning bush to Moses as “I AM” (Exodus 3:14). Henceforth, God was then known as YHWH. (English, Jehovah or Hebrew, Yahweh or Yahh).
God now began to gradually reveal His plan for man’s redemption, especially as foreshadowed by the “Passover” in Egypt. He also later spoke of a Messiah by the prophets.
Isaiah gave many prophesies relating to Jesus’ fulfillment of the sacrificial death. But one very notable passage is in Isaiah 7:14 where it says, “…Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Immanuel (Emmanuel) means “God with us.”
Jesus’ (Emmanuel) birth fulfilled this prophecy of God literally being born among us and living with us in human form. Matthew tells us the story:
An angel appeared to Joseph and told hm Mary would bear a son (Matt. 1:21), “…and thou shalt call his name JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins.” Yes, He shall save them. He will be their salvation. Remember that we said the Old Testament word, in most cases, for “salvation” was Yeshuah,” the Hebrew name for Jesus.
Then verse 23 goes on to say, “they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Jesus was “God with (among) us.”
During His ministry, Jesus made numerous “I am” statements. Here is a small sampling of some of them.
John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life…”
John 6:35 and 48: “I am the bread of life.”
John 9:5: “I am the light of the world.”
John 8:23: “…I am from above…”
John 10:11, 14: “I am the good shepherd”
John 15:1 “I am the true vine.”
John 13:13: “Ye call me Master and Lord…for so I am.”
The gospel of John records two truly remarkable passages where Jesus clearly identified Himself as the “I AM” of Moses’ burning bush. The first is in John 8:56-58 as the Jews questioned His greatness compared to their “Father Abraham.” In verse 56 Jesus said, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day; and he saw it and was glad.” They then questioned how he could have seen Abraham. Jesus replied (v. 58), “Before Abraham was, “I AM” (Not “I was” but “I AM” as in eternal).
The second passage is quite a miraculous demonstration of the sheer glory of His name. In John 18:4-8 it. As Judas betrayed Him in company of a band of temple guards and officers, Jesus asked them (v. 4), “Whom seek ye?” They replied, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them “I AM”. (Note: the word “he” is not in the original text.)
As soon as Jesus stated his identity as “I AM” they went backward falling to the ground. Yes, He stated the very name of His godhood and the glory of it was so powerful that none could stand. The terminology we would use today is that they were “slain in the Spirit.” Even though they were unbelievers, they fell at the very speaking of His name “I AM,” a name that identified him as God Himself.
There could be no stronger sign that Jesus was and is God than this demonstration of the glory and power in His name as seen in John 18:5-6.
Father is God. Jesus is God. In John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” Then in John 14:20 He said, “…I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” As Jesus is in me, and I in Him, then as He is in the Father, so also am I in the Father through Jesus, and the Father in me. Hallelujah

ARE YOU BEING EQUIPPED?
In Ephesians 4:11-13 it says, “11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some; pastors and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying (equipping) of the body of Christ: 13 til we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
These five gifts to the church are often called the five-fold ministry. Each of these were given so that the body of Christ could be equipped to minister and to bring unity to the church. Yes, each born-again person is called to minister. The word minister does not mean standing in a pulpit in a black robe. It means to serve. Each of us is called to serve in some capacity. Some may be called to what is called “full-time ministry”, but all are called to minister.
It is the responsibility of the five-fold ministers to teach the saints. Several years ago, the Lord had me ask a question to those that I came across. The question was, “How many books are there in the Bible?” I was shocked that so few knew the answer. In the King James Bible, there are 66 books. 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. Some of those that I asked were in full-time ministry, and they didn’t know the answer.
This led to the Lord telling me to start our ministry school. The purpose of this school was to equip the saints with basic knowledge so they would have an answer when people asked them. Then a year ago the Lord spoke to Russell and me about going live daily teaching the word and equipping the saints. That is so necessary in this day we live in.
There will come great deception like we have never seen. There will be many that will fall for the lies of the Antichrist and will be led into perdition. I see it already with so many Christians believing that homosexuality and abortion are okay. This is a lie that they have bought into, and it is totally contrary to scripture.
If the saints don’t know how many books there are in the Bible, then chances are they have never read it. A Pastor can teach truth my friends, but if the sheep do not want to act on it then he is not held accountable. The ones that are held accountable are the ones that have not equipped the saints for this hour that we live in.
What about you? Are you being equipped in the Church that you attend? If not, I suggest you find one that is equipping you. God doesn’t want you to be ignorant. He wants you to know the truth because the truth will set you free. Get equipped and then equip others. Be the minister that God has called you to be.

A Prophetic Word

Wake Up! Wake up! This is not the time to sleep, for there are many things that I would say to you in this hour.
You have been dull of hearing saith the Lord. I have often wanted to speak to you my child but you have drifted into a state of slumber. This is not the time to sleep. This is the hour of certainty that I have spoken of. Certainty you would say? Yes, you can be certain that there is much trouble on the horizon for those that slumber. There is a war happening now in the heavenlies far worse than the natural eye can see, for the eyes of many are shut in slumber. Have I not required of you a time to come apart and listen? Yet you have not!
Open your eyes from your sleep and seek my face, for I long to reveal to you the deep things of my Spirit. This is not the time to sleep. This is not the time to prepare, for surely I have told you to prepare yet you stood against my words. You have not sought after me with your whole heart. You have been dull of hearing. My children WAKE UP. I am sounding the warning. I am saying be on high alert for things are about to change and many will fail in this hour. I long for my children to rise up in full armor and take their place in the war that is happening now in the heavenlies. Do not rely on the arm of man in this hour for their hearts will fail from fear. You must listen to my Spirit and walk closer to me than ever before.
Fear not in this hour, for I will be with those that look to me and not to the arm of flesh. I am your sustainer, but you must wake up. Your very life depends on it. I have spoken. This is the hour you were chosen to rise up in my strength and defend the faith. Walk in my power. I will be with you saith the Lord. Wake up, Wake Up for I have much to say saith the Lord.

Let me assure you that the devil nor any of his helpers can STOP what God is doing in your life...Or in the earth today. Oh sure the demonic hoards of hell may play dirty pool in order to DECEIVE you; With the goal in mind to BLOCK you to DELAY you. However, you must know that nobody or no situation can cause you to be DENIED...And they surely cannot STOP you or SHUT you UP by SHUTTING you DOWN. So rejoice that you’re entering into a new season; As things you’ve watched and waited for...And that which you’ve stood in faith for are finally in sight... And the tides are turning on your behalf as they’re coming in on the shores of your life. The really great news about it all is that no one can stop the hands of God from turning and working in you, through you and for you. So take a faith look as the seasons are changing and so are things around you. Now’s the time for you to get ready to give God some crazy praise...For not only are the tides turning towards you; But God is also turning your sadness into joy, your tears into laughter, your days of defeat into your days of victory, your sickness and pain into your healing and your gain. Yes, the tides are turning and it is payback and payday for you. Are you ready to walk it out? If so, then get up and get going; For God is turning things around for you...Just in time.

FALSE PROPHETS AND UNFULFILLED PROPHECIES

As we roll into another presidency and unprecedented (blue) government, I want to address what I know is plaguing many of the Christians’ minds: “What happened with all the prophecies that Trump would win two terms?”
Before you start uploading a million and one videos on who’s a false prophet, I want to educate you on prophecy itself and how it works.
Most modern Christians base whether or not a person is a true prophet on the scripture in Deuteronomy 18:22, which states; “When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”
So, in the twenty-first century church, the basis of this is, if someone speaks something and it comes to pass, then they must be from God, and if it doesn’t come to pass, then one is deemed a false prophet.
Let me tell you why in this season, that is a dangerous conclusion...
