Welcome to Monday Mail!
SPECIAL EDITION #3
From the Principal
Greetings Trickum Community,

Welcome back (virtually)! I hope that each of you had a relaxing and enjoyable Spring Break. Hopefully you were all able to step away as best as possible and spend some quality time with your family. These current times are uncertain, however, we will continue to maintain as much "normalcy" as possible regarding school.

Today marks the beginning of another week of Digital Learning and we now know that we will complete the school year in this digital format. Thank you all for your continued patience and understanding as we all adjust yet maintain our high learning expectations.

There are many questions moving forward now that we know the school buildings will remain closed through the end of the school year. Questions like end of year activities, awards ceremonies, yearbook distribution, etc. Unfortunately, we do not yet have answers to most of those detailed questions at this time. I am hopeful that we will develop appropriate plans soon and be ready to share that information in the near future. Once decisions are made, they will certainly be shared here.

The one thing which is certain is our continued focus on ensuring learning for each student here at Trickum. That mission certainly continues. As we progress in a digital environment for the remaining weeks of school, please feel free to reach out to me or any Assistant Principal directly regarding any assistance you might need. We are all still "here" to serve our students and their families.

As a reminder, digital learning assignments will be posted by 10:30am daily on each teacher's eCLASS page. Teachers will also post Office Hours where they will be present live to be responsive to assist students. Should your family have difficulty accessing the eCLASS environment, please email your teacher(s) as they will be able to provide assignments via email and/or get you some technical assistance.

GCPS will continue to provide lunch pick-up at 68 locations within the district for anyone 18 years or younger. We are asking Trickum families to utilize Arcado Elementary as your primary pick-up location. Bus deliveries are only being made within the Arcado and Knight attendance zones.

Our building is closed. Only a couple of us remain here for emergency needs. If you need to reach out to the school, please do so via phone at 770-921-2705.

We will continue to keep you informed as we receive more information and further guidance from GCPS. Please continue to visit the main GCPS website as well as our Trickum website for updates.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. Feel free to reach out to the school by phone or to any Assistant Principal or myself by email and we will work together to answer your questions and assist with any other needs you or your family might have.
