Welcome to Monday Mail!
SPECIAL EDITION #2
From the Principal
Greetings Trickum Community,

Today marks the beginning of Week 2 of Digital Learning. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we all made a shift in our learning environment last week. Thank you to the parents who have worked with us in encouraging a structured environment at home conducive to learning. Your role remains vital in these "new" times.

As a reminder, digital learning assignments will be posted by 10:30am daily on each teacher's eCLASS page. Teachers will also post a minimum of three 30-minute time slots for Office Hours where they will be present live in the eCLASS environment, on a discussion board, via a video chat, etc. to be immediately responsive to assist students. Should your family have difficulty accessing the eCLASS environment, please email your teacher(s) as they will be able to provide assignments via email and/or get you some technical assistance. Our teachers have done a great job of providing in-line quality assignments as if they were in school. This is not simply a time for reviewing previously taught material. We expect learning to continue at the same level as if we were present in the school building.

GCPS will continue to provide drive-though lunch pick-up at 68 locations within the district for anyone 18 years or younger. We are asking Trickum families to utilize Arcado Elementary as your primary pick-up location. Bus deliveries are only being made within the Arcado and Knight attendance zones.

Our building is closed. Only a couple of us remain here for emergency needs. If you need to reach out to the school, please do so via phone at 770-921-2705.

ALL planned school activities, field trips, meetings, etc. remain canceled for now and will be rescheduled when we resume normal school operations.

We will continue to keep you informed as we receive more information and further guidance from GCPS. Please continue to visit the main GCPS website as well as our Trickum website for updates.

Next week, March 30-April 3 is the district's Spring Break. There will be no school (virtual or otherwise) next week. Enjoy the break.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. Feel free to reach out to the school by phone or to any Assistant Principal or myself by email and we will work together to answer your questions and assist with any other needs you or your family might have.
