Today is officially the first day of Fall! Yesterday, Sunday, September 22 was the Fall Equinox. That means that day and night will be nearly equal in length, as the Earth spins side-on to the sun and autumn officially begins in the northern hemisphere.

Chicago Scots Kilted Classic


Chicago Scots, the first and oldest non-profit organization in Illinois, is celebrating Scotland’s greatest contribution to the world of sports – golf! – when the 23rd Annual Kilted Classic Golf Tournament returns to Cantigny Golf Club on Thursday, September 26. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 11:00 am. Proceeds benefit Chicago Scots' principal charity, Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care.   Learn more here.

Pumpkin Fest at Cosley Zoo


Thousands of pumpkins will line the front lawn of Cosley Zoo this October at the zoo's annual Pumpkin Fest, happening October 1-31. Visitors can pick out a pumpkin, sip on cider, purchase various seasonal outdoor decor items, and make new family memories—all while enjoying a visit to the zoo! Cosley Zoo is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day in October.


Regular zoo admission rates apply for Pumpkin Fest. Cosley Zoo is FREE every day for children ages 0-17 and for Wheaton Park District residents of all ages!


Ignite University: DuPage Symphony Orchestra!


On Wednesday, October 2, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, Mari Ullrick of the DuPage Symphony Orchestra will discuss how the DSO uses marketing and community partnership strategies to create synergies within the local community. The Chamber will provide beverages and chips, in partnership with the Wheaton Public Library.

Family Shelter Services - Come Help Out!


10/1: Eat at Raising Cane's on Roosevelt Rd. Anytime between 12-8pm and mention Family Shelter Service, we will receive 15% of the profits Family Shelter Fundraiser


10/2: We are hosting a donation drive at 2 of our locations. We are collecting items such as: any hygiene products, twin XL sheets, towels, Uber and Lyft gift cards, cleaning products, paper towels, toilet paper, slippers, women and men's underwear. 605 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton drop off from 1-5pm. 7300 Main St., Downers Grove drop off from 3-7pm


10/5: Tabling at the Wheaton farmer's market 


10/6: First annual awareness walk, Hope in Every Step. This is a casual, 1mile walk at Herrik Lake in Wheaton, IL on Sunday, 10/6 at 10am. We will have light refreshments and domestic violence awareness swag items available. All ages are invited, including furry friends! Hope in Every Step


10/26: Trunk r' Treat at our Willow location in conjunction with the Wheaton business trunk r' treat. Trunk or Treat 2024

Enjoy live music in Cantigny's NEW beer garden, located just steps from the Visitors Center. Music begins at 5:30 pm (unless otherwise noted). Hours are 4:30 to 9 pm.

Phil's Friends Book Signing


Join Phil Zielke, founder of Phil’s Friends, on October 20, 2024 as he celebrates the release of his debut book, “Seeing the Good in It.” The Open House will be at The Moment on Main, 122 N. Main Street, Wheaton, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
