On Thursday, November 9th, we hosted the Baton Rouge Volunteer Activist luncheon at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. This was a very well- attended event that honored this year's Volunteer Activists.


During the luncheon, guests viewed a video that featured one of our Emerge families. The Effersons shared their story about their son, Samuel, and his journey at Emerge.

Gift Acceptance Policy


Acceptance of Gifts or Favors by Employees

 

We appreciate the gratitude shown to our staff at Emerge by our clients, parents, contractors, and vendors. Emerge strictly prohibits the acceptance of gifts or favors by any of our staff on an individual basis from the clients, parents, contractors or vendors affiliated with Emerge. Subsequently, Emerge also prohibits the use of gift incentives for reasons that promote competitiveness or departmental acts of recognition that doesn’t include all departments within the Emerge Family.

 

Any violation of this policy will subject the employee to disciplinary action or immediate discharge.

ALL Full-time and Part-time staff members please make sure to review and sign the employee handbook and complete the required HIPAA training in Highflyer. This includes Speech techs as well.

MANDATORY HIPAA TRAINING:

Directions to Acknowledge:



  • Log into Highflyer (Managers, ensure to switch to employee view)
  • Under Employee Messages, you should see a message in orange "Documents requiring your review"
  • Press on this message, and it should bring you straight to the HIPAA Training. If you do not see it immediately, you may need to scroll down to the "Training and Certifications" section of the page.
  • Press the blue download arrow to view the video
  • After you have watched the video, click the acknowledgment box and select "Sign acknowledgement" 

Payroll and Holiday Calendar

A payroll and holiday calendar has been created for all of you to utilize! This calendar includes all of the pay dates, along with the pay periods, and Emerge holidays.


You can find this calendar under the "Employee Messages" section of your personal Highflyer account. Feel free to let your team know that this is a resource they can use as well.

PARKING LOT SAFETY

Please be mindful when you are entering our parking lot and enter accordingly. We have witnessed individuals entering the exit and speeding through our parking lot. This creates a potential danger for both staff and families. We appreciate your attention in this matter.

Core vocabulary refers to the small number of words that make up >70-90% of what we say on a daily basis. These words are relevant across contexts and can have many meanings. Core vocabulary is powerful because it allows communicators to express a wide variety of concepts with a very small number of words.
