Lunch Time & After School Mentors needed in McHenry!

What: We are looking for a diverse group of mentors or "Bigs" to ignite the power and potential of youth in our community. "Lunch time Bigs" meet with their Little one day a week during their lunch time over the course of the school year. After school "Highschool Bigs" meet with their Littles, Thursdays from 4pm-5pm. Inaugural GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL at McHenry High School!

What: IHSA has officially added Girls Flag Football to the MCHS Athletic Dept and the 63 girls on the team are PUMPED!!!

We are looking for local businesses who want to support this new and empowering team! The team is looking for donations of items for raffle, cash, even team sponsored dinners. This new organization is starting from scratch and looking to build up awareness in the community and create a legacy that will continue on for MANY years! Any donation is welcome!

Community Meeting for Birth to Five Illinois: Region 44's Action Plan

What: In the spring of 2023, Birth to Five Illinois released the Region 44 (McHenry County) Early Childhood Regional Needs Assessment. The report includes community-driven recommendations for making local Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) service delivery more equitable for young children.

Since then, the Region 44 Birth to Five Illinois Action Council and Family Council have developed an Action Plan. This plan outlines goals, identifies key partners for support, and provides an initial timeline for advancing change in our community.

We are currently focusing on Recommendation 3: Increasing services for children in ECEC classrooms who require extra support due to developmental delays and/or challenging behavior. To make progress on this crucial recommendation, we need the participation of families and ECEC professionals. Your involvement is essential!

3RD ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE

What: The McHenry/Wonder Lake Lions Club will host their Third Annual Golf scramble! Golfers will enjoy 18 holes of golf with cart, dinner, and prizes. Cost is $110 per golfer. $25 Super Tickets also available. Dinner at 4:30. For additional guests, add $25. Reservations required.

When: Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM; 12:00 PM shotgun start
