When the IRS needs to ask a question about a taxpayer's tax return, notify them about a change to their account, or request a payment, the agency often mails a letter or notice to the taxpayer. Getting mail from the IRS is not a cause for panic but, it should not be ignored either.

Literacy Bins! by The McHenry Public Library


What: The McHenry Public Library District needs your help in finding more locations for our new Literacy Bins! Literacy Bins are a collection of board, picture, and early reader books that children can browse and read while visiting laundromats, waiting rooms, and more. Access to these materials will help children gain critical literacy skills and help prepare them for school. Be sure to leave the books in the bin as you end your visit to ensure other children have fun materials to read!

Call for Artists by Pioneer Center for Human Services


What: 4th Annual Empty Bowls Silent Art Auction benefiting McHenry County PADS Homeless Shelter. Through this event we hope to increase awareness of homelessness services in McHenry County, collaborate professionally with the fine arts community and continue the conversations post event through visual creations on the issue.


Pioneer is currently seeking 25-30 pieces of art (all media accepted: sculpture, mixed media, painting, photography, etc.). A piece can be done at the discretion of the artist and how they depict homelessness through themes such as of hope, resiliency, support, help and encouragement. We are asking you to participate in this year’s Empty Bowls Art Auction. Please consider donating your artwork to Pioneer Center, who will auction it off in an exclusive, one afternoon only gallery.

247th USMC BIRTHDAY BALL


What: Marine Corps Ball Corporate Sponsorship. Our 247th Anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Ball is being developed as annual community event.


Community Friendship and Patriotism through our Ceremony Tradition, Dinner, Guest Speaker followed by music and dancing. This event is open to the public to recognize the U.S. Marine Corps and All Veterans that surrounds Veterans Day.
