Kids Youth Fishing Derby - SIGN UP YOUR KIDS
WHAT: The 3rd annual McHenry Youth Fishing Derby will be here before we know it. This is a FREE event made possible by McHenry Parks and Recreation, our generous sponsors and K-Adams Foto. Trophies will be awarded and the event is open to kids 1-16. The first 200 kids registered will receive goodie bags along with participation gifts. RAIN OR SHINE EVENT - Bait and breakfast provided. Any additional funds will be donated to the city.

MCC hosting its next Job and Internship Fair on April 8
WHAT: If you're looking for a job or an internship, save April 8 on your calendar for the next McHenry County College Job and Internship Fair. Attendees can connect with local employers seeking full-time and part-time employees, as well as interns and temporary workers. Whether you're seeking full-time or part-time work, or an internship, dress to impress and bring copies of your resume.
Organizers are also encouraging attendees to create a free account on the MCC Hire a Scot job website. Also, if your wardrobe is a little lean on interview-appropriate clothing, don't worry - MCC can help you with that, too, through its Purple Closet program.

McHenry Mile Shamrock Scavenger Hunt
WHAT: McHenry Mile invites local businesses to participate in a Shamrock Stroll on March 14, designed to encourage community members to shop and explore within a one-mile radius of downtown McHenry.
Participating businesses will host a numbered shamrock stop as part of a self-guided stroll experience. A total of 17 business slots are available. Each participating location will receive:
- One numbered shamrock displayed in-store
- A sticker sheet used to mark participants’ shamrock cards (numbers will correspond with each business)
- Participants will visit locations to collect stickers, with one shamrock card permitted per family.
Event hours will vary based on each business’s regular operating hours. The participation fee is $10 per business.
