We are excited to announce our McHenry Downtown Uncorked Wine Walk will take place on September 26! There are many ways for you and your business to participate.
  • Advertise in our wine walk guide (1/2 page color ad only $100!)
  • Add a wine-related promotional item to our swag bag handed out to all attendees (Please check with Molly before ordering - only 1 type of item allowed per bag.)
  • Become a food sponsor (Limited number available. There is no cost except for providing food for a wine stop location. You may hand out promotional materials at event.)
  • Buy a ticket! Tickets go on sale August 4 at 11am. The event sold out in 3 hours last year, so be sure to mark your calendar!
We have met with the city of McHenry to determine a safe and fun way to continue a portion of our Fiesta Days festivities. We are pleased to announce that we will have a modified version of our Arts and Crafts in the Park.

Instead of a parade this year, we will offer the option for businesses to have a booth at Miller Point in our event called "Fair on the Point". Similar to an expo, this will provide businesses the opportunity to demonstrate their products and services while also handing out goodies and promotional items.

We will space the booths to provide safe physical distancing and we will also provide preventative measures (such as hand sanitizing stations and goody bags for participants to limit contact).

If your business would like to participate in Fair on the Point, please fill out the online registration form or call the Chamber office at 815-385-4300. For sponsorship opportunities, see below.

What: I won't qualify, it's too hard to apply, I didn't know I could collect.....I have heard many reasons my self employed clients have not applied for unemployment. Don't count it out! I encouraged several of my clients whose business has suffered from COVID-19 apply and be approved for unemployment. One receiving $8,800, another $10,000, another $12,000 in backpay. The process was fairly easy for most.
First, you have to have income on Schedule C on your tax return. A loss will not qualify you. If you still have income from a W-2 job, you probably won't qualify either. Although I do not work for IL Dept of Employment Security, I am speaking from my experiences.

https://www2.illinois.gov/ides/pages/file-a-claim.aspx . Enter "self employed" in the Employer box.
You have to be denied regular unemployment first. At the end of this application it should show your estimated benefits of zero. You can then go straight to the PUA application (Pandemic Unemployment Assistance) and follow the instructions.
