St. Mark Families:
You may be aware of the rising positive COVID-19 cases in WNY. Schools must be prepared to close in-person instruction on short notice due to State mandates or COVID-19 outbreaks within individual schools.
Should we be required to transition to fully remote Distance Learning, it will mimic the current schedule that we run each school day. This means ALL students would be required to attend school remotely from 8:30 to 2:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The entire class would follow daily instruction – it would not be done in cohorts. Wednesdays would be left as is for Office Hours, planning, teacher preparation and grade level meetings. Special area classes would be conducted at the times they are listed in the current schedule.
Before the implementation of fully remote instruction, there would be a transition time of at least 2 days for teachers to prepare for full remote instruction with all students. This would also allow families time to pick up items that students may have left in school.
Please understand that as a Kindergarten to grade 8 school, instruction may look different for students at various grade levels. The amount of time synchronously learning in front of a screen will vary based on age and attention levels. Teachers would be in contact with students and families regarding daily schedules.
Should we be required to transition to fully remote Distance Learning, all families would be notified via email, automated phone call and text message.
Please continue to follow all health and safety guidelines in order to keep you and your families healthy.
