FROM THE ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE - Those Pesky Weeds! With all the wet winter weather and warm temperatures, weeds are popping up and the ALC is receiving weed complaints. The monsoon rains will be arriving soon …resulting in even more weeds. Please use weed killer on those that have popped up and use weed pre-emergent control for those future weeds. Weeds in your yard need to be eradicated whether you are here or not. Plan to have someone take care of weeds in your yard while you are on vacation.

RENTER POLICY - Homeowners, please ensure your Rental Policy Agreement is on file at the front desk before your renters check in. New and returning renters must make an appointment before check-in date at 520-818-1000, #4. Click here for Rental Policy Agreement

GUEST POLICY: Please drop off your Guest Profile Sheet at the front desk at least five days before your guest arrives. Click here for Guest Profile Sheet

COMMON AREA HAPPENINGS

FRIENDLY REMINDER - Please pick up after your pet. Be a good neighbor.

THE COMMON AREA CREW for level 4 is currently in unit 14. Level five maintenance is paused as we evaluate the progress and the comments that the staff and board have received from the residents. We appreciate all the input as we work to implement the level five maintenance.

FOR YOUR SAFETY, please remain in your home while equipment is in operation. Please do not come out and request additional work, trimming or ask to leave certain areas alone. The Crew is following the direction of their Supervisor, at the direction of the Board of Directors. If you would like to submit your comments or concerns, you may contact the Common Area Supervisor Elias.Hernandez@sbhoa2.org, or call 520-818-1000 ext. 1098.

Please be advised that Homeowners are not allowed to work or plant anything in any of the common areas.  Any Homeowner violating this rule will be responsible for the costs that the SBHOA#2 incurs to bring the area involved to its original state. In addition, defacing of trees will result in a fine of $500 per tree, plus the cost to restore the area to its original state. SB2 PATROL UPDATES

SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING: If you see suspicious activity please contact the Patrol Duty Truck at (520) 349-5124.

(Save our number in your cell phone for easy access).

PATROL TIP OF THE WEEK

DOG WALKERS – before you take your furry friend out on the Arizona summer pavement, take your own shoes off and see how it feels. If it’s too hot for you to walk on, it’s also too hot for your canine pal. Take them to the beautiful Dog Park (membership required) or the grassy dog patch at the MountainView clubhouse instead! Your fur baby will thank you!

SNAKE SENSE - There has been a spike in rattlesnake sightings, probably due to the recent increase in rain. If you come upon a rattlesnake unexpectedly close to you, stop, don't move. Rattlesnakes are motion driven so if you have a cell phone or something else in your hand, drop it near the snake, the snake will refocus on the dropped item, and you can take a step away from the snake to a safe position.

MONSOONS AND POOLS - With monsoon season on the horizon, keep an eye on WeatherBug.com for lightning within 10 miles; Patrol will coordinate closure of all three SB2 pools to lock the pool gates and update Jotform (view here) with the current status. Similarly, Patrol will monitor WeatherBug.com for reopening of the pools no earlier than 30 minutes after the last lightning strike, unless it seems probable that more lightning is on the way.”

HYDRATION – as the days start getting warmer, Patrol reminds and encourages you to STAY HYDRATED. As you get older, it’s even more important to stay hydrated. A study from the UCLA School of Nursing found that up to 40% of elderly people may be chronically under-hydrated. Appetite and thirst tend to diminish with age, and seniors are more likely to take medications that increase dehydration risk. “Drink 8 glasses a day” is what the National Council on Aging recommends.

SHARING THE ROAD – please be reminded that the ”rules of the road” (actually state laws and ordinances) apply to ALL VEHICLES, including cars, golf carts and bicycles that are required to stop at stop signs, obey speed limits and give pedestrians the right of way. Injury accidents and near-misses occur far too many times every day in our community. Please, please, PLEASE follow the law, be courteous and avoid citations from Patrol!

PACE OF PLAY TIPS. DEVELOP AN EYE FOR DISTANCE. If you need to determine precise distance, try to find a yardage marker before you reach your ball, then step off the yardage on the way to your ball. Or consider investing in an electronic rangefinder or GPS for golf and use it when permitted by Local Rule. If others you are playing with are not familiar with the course, the Rules permit players to exchange yardage information without penalty.
