Principal's Message

The partnership between parents/families and school is essential. Regular communication and consultation is vital to this partnership. Teachers communicate regularly with parents through class newsletters, email, calls, or occasional meetings (as needed). Three times during the year we hold Parent Teacher Conferences. Each set of conferences has a purpose.

Fall conferences (October 24/25)

  • These offer a chance for parents and teachers to discuss the student’s progress. Parents can also hear ways they can support students at home.
  • Families schedule an appointment or come for arena style conferences in the cafeteria.

Winter conferences (February 6/7)

  • Conferences are based on teacher requests to families of students who need additional support.
  • Students who are in need of additional support or who are experiencing academic difficulties are the priority for these conferences.

Spring conferences (May 2)

  • Teachers request conferences for students in need of significant support.

Fall Conference Schedule

The purposes of conferences are to meet with families; gain insight into our students; and talk with parents about how classes are going. The conference times are Thursday, October 24 in the afternoon and evening (see below) and Friday, October 25 all day.

Families schedule through Sign Up genius - The links for signups will go live tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5:15 pm.

This year, the time for the schedule link to open is set for an evening to make the appointment selection a bit fairer for families who work during the day.

Elementary

  • The schedule is for 20-minute appointments with five minutes in between.
  • This year we will welcome families in the lobby and invite them to go to their child’s classroom at their scheduled time.
  • October 24 1:00-7:00pm scheduled conferences
  • October 25 8:00-2:30pm

Middle School

  • The middle school is working on a hybrid conference plan that is made possible by flexing their time. There will be time for scheduled conferences and for arena conferences (teachers all in one room and families meet with teachers individually).
  • October 24 4:00-8:00pm arena conferences in cafeteria
  • October 25 8:00-1:00pm scheduled conferences

Virtue for the Week

This week our school is reflecting on the virtue of temperance.

Temperance is the virtue connected to self-control

and to moderation – knowing when enough is enough.

It means that our lives are led by what is within us –

led by our faith, hope, and love –

and not by things on the outside of us.

Gratitudes

Thank you to our students who served at mass last weekend: Sierra, Emmie, Ellie, Matheas, Charlotte, and Eli

Last week during the school mass the fourth grade class performed a brand new song. The song "Here at This Table" was written by Holy Trinity Teacher and parish music director Ken Canedo. The song is dedicated to “the students, teachers and staff at Holy Trinity School, Beaverton, OR”.  As a school we are honored and grateful to Mr. Candedo.

Service Projects

Support a local community service effort called Binky Patrol or with gently used clothing this with our Clothing Drive.

October is SOCKTOBER - 7th grade is partnering up with the Beaverton Police to provide greatly needed sock donations to those families in the Beaverton area, those houseless and those living in shelters.  Socks are one of the most needed donation items, yet least donated. Help us support this cause by dropping off new socks in the lobby in the month of October.

Link your Kroger rewards card to Holy Trinity Catholic School. Community Rewards is easy to use, The more you shop with Kroger, the more money Holy Trinity Catholic School will earn! You can also add Holy Trinity to your purchases at Office Depot.
