Monday Minute
Happy Monday,

It is hard to believe that December has started. Today, Mr. Klee introduced our Advent program with the students during Morning Assembly. Read all about it in Day 75 of our 180 Days of Learning Blog . We are all looking forward to making our journey to Christmas together. Don't forget that the PTO Santa Shop will be open all week. Check out the section below for more details. Have a great week.

Giving Tree Collections
The Giving Tree project is supporting 70 families this year. We would like to have each classroom purchase the assigned items — and then bring all the items together for a prayer service on Friday, December 14th in Tuohy Hall at 8:30 am.
We would like:
Kindergarten to purchase 140 cans of mushroom soup (10.50 oz) - 4 per child
1st grade to purchase 140 cans of green beans (14.5 oz) - 5 per child
2nd grade to purchase 70 boxes of jello/pudding or bag of dessert mix (no eggs needed) - 3 per child
3rd grade to purchase 70 cans of cranberry sauce (16 oz) - 3 per child
4th grade to purchase 70 cans of fried onions (6 oz) - 2 per child
5th grade to purchase 140 cans of corn (around 15.25 oz) - 3 per child
6th grade to purchase 70 boxes of instant stuffing (12 oz) - 3 per child
7th grade to purchase 140 cans of turkey or chicken gravy (10.50 oz No Glass Please) - 3 per child
8th grade to purchase 70 boxes of instant potatoes (13 oz) - 2 per child (then you would need 2 more)

Please keep these items in your room until the prayer service. We will all gather in Tuohy Hall and have a short prayer service – in which 8th graders will be first to put items in the bags and will stay by the bags to help the younger children put the right amounts in each bag.

Based on your number of students you may end up collecting more than is assigned but rest assured that the food will go to a place where it is much needed.
Girl Scout Giving Tree Call Out New
I would like to invite ALL Christ the King Girl Scouts to assist with receipt, transfer and sorting of The Giving Tree Gifts. Parents and/or leaders will be needed to supervise the Scouts. We will arrive at 8:45 am to begin loading and receiving gifts from parishioners attending 9:00 am Mass. This process will be repeated for each Mass until all incoming gifts are moved to the basement. You are welcome to stay for any/all Masses (9am, 10am, 11:30am). If you have any questions, please call/text me at (317) 902-6411.Thank you and I hope you'll join us! Stacey Hoaglin, GT Coordinator

What kind of can my child use at the Santa Shop?
Gift Certificates are still available. You can print them off at home via  www.holidayshop.org/giftcert . This may be easier for our younger shoppers. We keep track of gift certificates! If they are misplaced, we will still have a record of the amount remaining so that no one loses any funds. If your child does not spend all of the gift certificate, you will get cash as change.
**No checks or credit cards will be accepted at the shop.

How can I volunteer?
We still have openings if you would like to volunteer!

eLearning Information From Last Week's Tiger News
The staff and I are making preparations to implement an eLearning day when necessary, Elearning days are a State Department of Education certified option we can use when we close school for inclement weather. An eLearning day counts as a normal school day and prevents us from having to make up a day in the future. We are planning on having an eLearning Day on Friday, February 15th instead of making that day up for the day we missed before Thanksgiving. I will share more information about eLearning days in the weeks to come. Below are a few important things to know.

1) Students will have 2 additional school days after the eLearning day to make up assignments.
2) All assignments will be a review of concepts that have already been taught.
3) Kindergarten - 5th grade teachers will email you a list of assignments by 8:00 am the morning of an eLearning Day. Middle School Teachers will have assignments posted to their Google Classroom pages by 8:00 a.m.
4) Teachers will be available through email to answer questions from 8:00-1:00.
5) The majority of activities will require internet access and may use IXL. The computer lab will be available after school for two days after the eLearning Day for students who were unable to access the internet to complete their assigned tasks.
6) Teachers will be walking their classes through what to do on an eLearning Day in the next few weeks.
