The Giving Tree project is supporting 70 families this year. We would like to have each classroom purchase the assigned items — and then bring all the items together for a prayer service on Friday, December 14th in Tuohy Hall at 8:30 am.
We would like:
Kindergarten to purchase 140 cans of mushroom soup (10.50 oz) - 4 per child
1st grade to purchase 140 cans of green beans (14.5 oz) - 5 per child
2nd grade to purchase 70 boxes of jello/pudding or bag of dessert mix (no eggs needed) - 3 per child
3rd grade to purchase 70 cans of cranberry sauce (16 oz) - 3 per child
4th grade to purchase 70 cans of fried onions (6 oz) - 2 per child
5th grade to purchase 140 cans of corn (around 15.25 oz) - 3 per child
6th grade to purchase 70 boxes of instant stuffing (12 oz) - 3 per child
7th grade to purchase 140 cans of turkey or chicken gravy (10.50 oz No Glass Please) - 3 per child
8th grade to purchase 70 boxes of instant potatoes (13 oz) - 2 per child (then you would need 2 more)
Please keep these items in your room until the prayer service. We will all gather in Tuohy Hall and have a short prayer service – in which 8th graders will be first to put items in the bags and will stay by the bags to help the younger children put the right amounts in each bag.
Based on your number of students you may end up collecting more than is assigned but rest assured that the food will go to a place where it is much needed.
