This year OKCMAR has become increasingly involved in issues related to homelessness and affordable housing. We hope to continue our efforts by being actively engaged in this important debate.

OKCMAR is responding to proposals by Councilman Mark Stonecipher to address issues related to the homeless population. As the first step in the process, he will formally be introducing the following at the council meeting tomorrow:

Also in the agenda is the Homelessness Initiative Annual Report, the first item listed under City Manager Reports (V).

The OKCMAR Government Affairs Committee is scheduling a meeting with Councilman Stonecipher to discuss the proposals. OKCMAR is also scheduling a special meeting of the Homeless and Policy Subcommittees to discuss the proposals and adoption of possible recommendations to be presented at the first hearing at the December 6th OKC council meeting.

The first initial vote on the proposals is planned for January 3rd.
