Per Article III Section 3(a) of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce Bylaws, notice of the appointment of the Nominating Committee shall be given to the Chamber’s membership. This year’s nominating committee is:

A 50th Anniversary Celebration for the
Foundation for the Tri-State 🎂

We celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Foundation for the Tri-State on August 17 at our Business After Hours!
It was a great evening of networking with over 160 individuals at the beautiful 21 at The Frederick!
The Foundation for the Tri-State Community Inc. is an independent, non-profit, tax-exempt philanthropic corporation – and the community foundation serving the Tri-State area of eastern Kentucky, southwestern West Virginia and southern Ohio. The Foundation for the Tri-State meets community needs by facilitating community projects and administering endowments that support the charitable organizations serving the Tri-State area. The Foundation serves as a flexible charitable umbrella by hosting over 300 funds, each with its own charitable purpose.

Curtain Call at Foundry Theater 🎭 | |
We celebrated creativity, culture, and community at the Foundry Theater, located in the Jean Carlo Stephenson Auditorium in City Hall, on August 16!
Founded by Rachel Allinder and Nate Cesco and managed by Emily Conzett and Rachel Allinder, Foundry Theater is a non-profit event venue focused on providing a new platform for the creative arts scene in Huntington, WV and the greater Appalachian region. New sound equipment, movie screen, and a projector have been installed since Foundry began managing the auditorium, turning the historic 1915 venue into a movie theatre and music venue.
Foundry has hosted national stand-up comics, local and national musicians, The Good Time Show, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and sundry theater groups. For more information, visit www.foundrytheater.org.

Highmark West Virginia Charitable Fund for Health Presents $300K Grant to St. Mary's Center for Education for Student Scholarships 🩺 | |

Students at the St. Mary’s Center for Education will receive financial assistance as a result of a $300,000 two-year grant provided by the Highmark West Virginia Charitable Fund for Health.
The grant will support scholarships for 13 nursing students, three respiratory care students and three medical imaging students, for a total of 19 student scholarships, according to Joey Trader, EdD, MSN, RN, CNE, vice president, Schools of Nursing and Health Professions at St. Mary’s Medical Center and director of the St. Mary’s School of Nursing.

Swim Into Fall with Marshall Rec Swim School 🏊♀️ | |
Marshall Rec Center’s fall swim classes start August 21! We pride ourselves with maintaining a low student to instructor ratio, following a set curriculum, and assessing each student every session. We emphasize proper technique providing skills for a future of satisfying and safe aquatic pursuits whether it be for leisure or competition. Instruction is available for all ages and ability levels beginning at 10 months old. We offer group and private swim lessons year round.
Cost for Group Lessons: $45 for Rec members and $62 for non-members

Developmental Therapy Center is hosting their 7th Annual All Aboard event on Saturday, October 21st at Willow Ridge Events in Barboursville. Climb aboard the DTC Express for an evening filled with incredible music, delicious food, and exciting activities, all while supporting a meaningful cause.
We are thrilled to announce that American Idol season 20 winner Noah Thompson, will be headlining this year’s event. In addition to his performance, guests can also enjoy live music from the Kelley and Julie Davis Band and Corey Hager, mouth-watering food from Buddy’s All-American BAR-B-QUE, and scrumptious desserts by the Peach Cobbler Factory. The open bar will feature refreshing drinks, as well as bourbon and moonshine tastings. Make sure to participate in the silent auction and games that will be set up around the room.

New Courses at Mountwest! 📚 | |
Mountwest Community & Technical College has added several new courses including the Deckhand Basic Training, a 7-day training course designed to acquaint the prospective entry-level deckhand with the life on the river and to assist the deckhand in obtaining a job on a commercial towboat. Safety training and hands-on skills are emphasized. The next class begins August 21.

The 5th Annual Sweets for Sight bidding will take place on Monday, August 28 with pictures of desserts and packaged items from vendors
Pictures of desserts and package items from our fabulous vendors starting on Monday August 28 at 9:00 AM, you can place bids on a dessert or desserts you desire. The bidding will end on Friday September 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM. The person with the highest bid will win a certificate to claim their recreated dessert from the vendor. Each item will have a starting bid amount that must be made and then each bid placed after must be done in at $1.00 increments. There will also be a few prize package items to bid on as well. Bids start with reserve bid amount that first must be met and then can increase by $1.00 increments. Please contact Cabell-Wayne Association of the Blind at 304-522-6991 with any questions.
