West Virginia Women Leading the Way 🌟

Over 100 women (and two supporting men) joined us on Thursday, November 9, at Guyan Golf and Country Club for the Women's Impact Network's Women Leading the Way Panel Discussion featuring the four current officers of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, who are all women leaders in their communities: Board Chair and CEO of Charles Ryan Associates, Susan Lavenski; Board Vice-Chair and Director of Government Relations for Antero, Maribeth Anderson; Secretary and Vice President/CFO of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Kathy Thomas; and Treasurer and Senior Partner of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, Anna Dailey.

These four women encouraged us and shared their stories; working in male dominated industries, juggling the challenge of being working moms and wives, and their success even when there were barriers. Thank you to these women who are leading the way in West Virginia!

Thank you to table sponsors, West Virginia Public Broadcasting and Benefit Plans Services. Special thanks to Guyan Golf & Country Club for hosting us and for a wonderful lunch!

HMA’s 8th Annual Fine Art Auction to Take Place

on Nov. 18, 2023 🖼️

The Huntington Museum of Art will conduct its 8th Annual Fine Art Auction fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at 2 p.m. as an online and in-person event. The works are available for viewing on the Invaluable website at https://www.invaluable.com/catalog/4s7ez1xnuv?page=1&size=48

“For the past year, we have been working diligently to put together a great selection of artwork for this year’s Fine Art Auction at the Huntington Museum of Art,” said Geoffrey K. Fleming, HMA’s Executive Director. “There are over 210 lots in this year’s auction. Some of the highlights include some very nice examples of Asian art and beautiful decorative art creations by the Tri-State’s own Kelsey Murphy.” In addition, there are numerous paintings, watercolors, etchings and pieces of silver.

Many lots in HMA’s Fine Art Auction will start at just $25. “It is a wonderful way to start collecting art as the auction offers something for people with every kind of budget,” Fleming said.

An in-person preview of the auction items takes place at HMA on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The works included in the sale were consigned by generous members and supporters of the Museum.

A buyer’s premium of 15 percent will be added to all successful bids executed in-house, and a buyer’s premium of 25 percent will be added to all successful bids made on the Invaluable website during this event.

Successful local bidders can begin to pick up their auction items the afternoon of Nov. 18 until 5:30 p.m. After Nov. 18, successful local bidders can pick up works on Nov. 20 after 1 p.m. Please call (304) 529-2701 to schedule a pick-up time. Successful online bidders who need to arrange and pay for shipping can work with the UPS Store in Huntington, W.Va., where HMA will deliver the works.

A significant amount of proceeds from this fundraising event will benefit the Huntington Museum of Art. For more information on events at HMA, visit www.hmoa.org or call (304) 529-2701. HMA is fully accessible.
