The inaugural class of Leadership Huntington, presented by Mountain Health Network, embarked on an exciting journey during their orientation and first session, held on September 6 and 7 at Huntington's Kitchen. The new program, offered through the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, is designed to connect, develop, empower, and mobilize current and emerging leaders committed to making a difference in the Huntington region. The 10-month program provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the region's economic, social, and political landscape while equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to tackle complex business challenges. | |

As part of Marshall Health’s Career Opportunities for Appalachian Legacy (COAL) initiative, training participants will learn firsthand from other small business owners how to start and operate a small business or social enterprise, which are businesses that sell or provide a service to support a cause.

Marshall University’s Advanced Manufacturing Center and Advantage Valley are presenting another in their series of Supply Chain Expos to connect small businesses to major companies while forging supply chain connections closer to home.
The October 12 virtual event from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. will feature Gestamp, an international group dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of metal automotive components.

Kick-off Halloween Season with Huntington Children's Museum's Third Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest 🎃 | |
Join the Huntington Children's Museum's third annual Pumpkin Carving Contest on Tuesday, October 17 at 6 PM outside The Market. Grab dinner at The Market and then enjoy the show!
All contestants will have an hour to carve their masterpieces unless YOU decide to donate to extend their carving time. Additional minutes up to 30 minutes are available for $10 a minute NOW! Contestants who raise $600 before the event will be permitted to choose a partner to assist with the competition!

Applications Now Being Accepted for
Nursing Minority Scholarship 🩺

Applications are now being accepted for the St. Mary’s School of Nursing/Mountwest Community and Technical College Minority/Person of Color Scholarship.
The scholarship recipient receives waived tuition at Mountwest for required support courses and full tuition, fees and books for all courses at St. Mary’s School of Nursing. The recipient must remain continuously enrolled and maintain an overall 2.5 GPA for ongoing eligibility.
The deadline to apply is April 5, 2024, but early applications are encouraged.

Valley Health Expansion with Three New Providers 🏥 | |
Valley Health Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce a new health center in Point Pleasant. The new Valley Health – Point Pleasant QuickCare is located inside of Fruth Pharmacy at 2501 Jackson Ave, Point Pleasant, WV 25550 and opened on July 10, 2023. This new location continues Valley Health’s mission of providing quality health care to everyone. The Point Pleasant – Fruth location features two exam rooms, a laboratory, and will serve as an urgent care clinic. Three new Valley Health providers are seeing patients at this location:
