September Lunch & Learn Announced

What is the best way to engage with a blind person who enters your place of business?

Join the American Foundation for the Blind for an engaging and informative Lunch & Learn session focused on digital accessibility.

We’ll explore how individuals who are blind or have low vision navigate digital technology using screen readers and magnification software across platforms. The session will include a live demonstration of a popular Windows-based screen reader, showing how it interacts with the web and why accessible websites matter for both users and businesses. We'll conclude with a brief overview of the new Title II regulations on digital accessibility and an introduction to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the recognized standard for accessible digital products.

This Lunch & Learn is ideal for anyone interested in building a more inclusive and accessible digital presence.

HMA to Present Joyful Spirits: Haitian Art from The Winslow Anderson Collection

The Huntington Museum of Art will present Joyful Spirits: Haitian Art from The Winslow Anderson Collection from Aug. 16 through Feb. 8, 2026. An Opening Reception will be held on Aug. 26, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. as part of the free 4th Tuesday Tour Series.

Featured artists include Gabriel Alix, Montas Antoine, Rigaud Benoit, Préfète Duffaut, and Hector Hyppolite.

Winslow Anderson, longtime HMA supporter and Blenko Glass’s first full-time designer, collected Haitian art during annual trips to Port-au-Prince from 1948–1989. His friendship with Le Centre d’Art founder DeWitt Peters deepened his passion for Haitian art. Upon his death in 2007, Anderson left HMA 160 works and an endowment to preserve and grow the collection.

This exhibit is supported by The Isabelle Gwynn and Robert Daine Exhibition Endowment, the WV Department of Arts, Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
