Be a Voice for Children—Get Involved This April

The Children's Home Society of West Virginia invites you to become an active partner in raising awareness and supporting the prevention of child abuse during Child Abuse Prevention Month this April.

Child Abuse Prevention Month is an important time for communities to come together and highlight the urgent need to protect vulnerable children. The month-long observance is a powerful opportunity to engage individuals, businesses, and organizations in activities that promote safety, prevention, and healing for children affected by abuse.

As a business member that cares deeply about the well-being of our community, we believe that you could make a significant impact by participating in this initiative. There are a variety of ways businesses like yours can get involved, including:

  • Displaying Blue Pinwheels or Ribbons: The blue pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention. Displaying pinwheels in your storefront or office space helps raise awareness of this cause. Pinwheels are $25 per bundle of 25.
  • Hosting Fundraising or Donation Drives: Partnering with us to fundraise or collect essential supplies for local children in foster care.
  • Sponsoring Community Events: Your business could sponsor an event such as a walk, seminar, or informational campaign to inform the public and spread awareness. We are hosting a Walk for Kids on April 17, 2025, 11:00am-2:00pm, at Ritter Park Water Fountain.
  • Employee Education & Volunteering: Encourage your employees to learn more about child abuse prevention and get involved by volunteering their time with local organizations.

Your involvement in Child Abuse Prevention Month would help create a stronger, safer community for children and families. Together, we can make a difference by shining a light on this critical issue and demonstrating that our community stands united in protecting its children.

We would be happy to discuss partnership opportunities and how your business can get involved. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Belinda Chapman at 681-378-2530 or email bchapman@childhswv,org. for more information.

Thank you for considering this important opportunity to make a lasting impact. We look forward to your support and collaboration.
