Thursday, January 10, 2018

4:00 p.m. WORKSHOP: NJ Advance Media, Iselin, NJ
5:00 p.m. HOLIDAY PARTY: Kona Grill, Iselin, NJ

Even if you don't check your social media accounts every day, your customers most likely do. And, they just may be talking about you. There are over 1.15 billion Facebook users, over 500 million people on Twitter, 500 million active Google+ users, 238 million LinkedIn profiles, and more than 150 million people on Instagram, according to Social Media Today.

Conversations about brands, products and services are happening on social media. Social media accounts for a third of all time spent online. Social networks have changed the game forever for marketers - and the changes aren't slowing down anytime soon.

Keeping up with the latest social channels and their functionalities can feel like a full-time job. And if you're like most marketers, you're probably juggling other responsibilities, such as reporting on social media metrics, growing your audience, and collaborating with teams like sales and service to make every department more social. NJ Advance Media will host a "Get Social" to review best practices and tips for every aspect of social media in business, from listening and engagement to publishing and advertising.

Presenter: Joel Espinoza, Director of Social Media

SCHEDULING NOTE:  This workshop will be provided as in-person program at NJ Advance Media's office in Iselin, NJ, as well as a webinar for those who can not attend in person.  NJSA's Holiday Party will follow at Kona Grill (511 U.S. Route 1, Iselin, NJ) will follow.

MEMBER NEWS - COWORX STAFFING SERVICES

CoWorx Staffing Services, a staffing and recruiting firm headquartered in Watchung, NJ, has earned the Safety Standard of Excellence mark from the American Staffing Association. The program, developed by ASA and the National Safety Council, promotes industry-wide safety best practices.

By participating in the Safety Standard of Excellence program, staffing companies, their temporary workers, and host employers can build a mutually beneficial relationship to help identify and mitigate workplace hazards and exposures, ensure clear communication between the staffing firm and host employer, and clearly delineate the safety responsibilities of each party.

"ASA congratulates CoWorx Staffing Services for its commitment to protecting and enhancing temporary worker safety, and for being among the first to earn the Safety Standard of Excellence mark," said Stephen C. Dwyer, Esq., ASA general counsel. "CoWorx has tangibly demonstrated to clients, candidates, and employees its commitment to safety best practices."

"Companies participating in the Safety Standard of Excellence program are to be commended for taking steps to put their companies' practices under the microscope and seeking to be the best they can be for their temporary workers," said Amy Harper, Ph.D., NSC director of workplace initiatives and Journey to Safety Excellence. "The commitment to safety demonstrated through Safety Standard of Excellence program participation should speak volumes to the clients with whom these staffing firms do business."

CoWorx Staffing Services is extremely proud of this recognition and with the work and dedication of all its team members to the company's ongoing commitment to workplace safety," said CoWorx chief executive officer Michael Epstein. "It is CoWorx's top priority that each and every employee feels safe and supported. Earning this recognition demonstrates to employees and clients that the company puts safety first in everything it does."
