Corrections from Last Week
Lamp Posts
In last week's MMM, we misstated that our EE Decorating Elves (Gary and Jackie Rautio) decorated 65 lamp posts this year.  That's slightly overstated....the actual number is 35 (sorry for the mistake).  They are still Super Hero Elves, and this year they set a record number of decorated lamp posts since they have been doing it for residents.  Thanks Gary and Jackie!!
Food Donations
Last week, in our discussion about EE Food Donations, we did not acknowledge EE residents' food donations to the collection box at the Ramada. Sandy Lavoi reports that they have taken a lot of food to the Sahuarita food bank. Thank you to everyone who donated, and to Sandy and Phil Lavoi for delivering our food donations all year round.
Dog Poop Pictures's the latest twist to the "Dog Poop Saga"...hiding it instead of throwing it away...ugh!  Donna Smith spotted a blue bag of the stuff hidden in a bench in Mountain View Park.  What!??  She disposed of it....thanks Donna!
Caring Connections is a way to share information about EE neighbors who may be experiencing a health crisis or could use some neighborly assistance.  With the isolation of Covid, we often don't know what's happening right next door.  Our neighbors want to know, so they can help one another.  If you know of a situation, please call Judy Hayes, 720-201-9260, or email
Recent Scams
From the Green Valley SAV Scam Squad

Overpaid Utility Bill
The Green Valley Scam Squad alerted us this week to a scam where you get a robocall saying you paid too much on a utility bill.  The caller says to make up for this mistake, you'll get a cash refund and a discount on your future bills. All you have to do is press a number to get your money and discount. If you get one of these calls, hang up.  Don't press any numbers or respond to any instructions.

Corona Virus Scam
Coronavirus scams are spreading nearly as fast as the virus itself.   Three ways to avoid Corona virus scams:
  • You can't pay to get your name on a list to get the vaccine
  • You can't pay to get early access to the vaccine
  • Nobody legitimate will call about the vaccine and ask for your Social Security number, bank account, or credit card number. Click here for more information.
Your Green Valley Sheriff Auxiliary Volunteer's Scam Squad will answer your questions regarding scams or suspected scams. Please call 520-351-6715, Monday - Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. To report an incident of fraud (money lost to a scam), call 911 or 520-351-4900.
Thanks neighbor, Jerzy Siegenfeld
