No-Host Happy Hour This Friday
It's Happy Hour week!  This week we'll have our No-Host Happy Hour, Friday, July 9, 4 pm. at the Ramada.  Bring your cool beverage and come on down...the Ramada fans will be on...let's beat the heat together!

Here's how our "No Host"gatherings work....
  • Bring your own drinks
  • If you'd like, bring an appetizer to share
  • Bring your own eating utensils, paper plates, etc.
  • After, everyone helps clean up the Ramada
  • Most important, have a great time!!
As we've been doing, we'll observe the currently recommended Covid protocol for outdoor gatherings.  If you are vaccinated, you don't have to mask or social distance, unless you have underlying conditions, then do what's right for you.  It's recommended that non-vaccinated people continue to observe masking and social distancing.
County Delivers On Their Claim of Responding to Resident Input
From Neighbor Jim Sollars
"In the March 15 MMM there was reference to a Pima County site that accepts service requests.  I tried it, send it fotos and the like, and lo and behold, a Pima County road inspector appeared today and we had a little chat.  Yes, the potholes in front of our house will be repaired in a couple of weeks.  The moral of the story is make yourself heard through their web address specifically set up for service requests.  Here it is:
It's great news to know that the County does respond to online reports.  Thanks for the feedback, Jim!
Four Ways to Keep From Becoming a Scam Victim
Source: Green Valley Sheriff's Auxiliary Volunteers Scam Squad

Scams of various, computer, identity theft, etc....have been with us for a long time, but they seem to have multiplied with the Covid pandemic.  Here are a few good suggestions from the Green Valley Scam Squad that could prevent us from becoming scam victims.  Also, check out the Scam Squad website for more great information about avoiding scams.

When the phone rings, do not answer if you do not know the caller. Don't worry, important callers will leave a message. Many caller-id numbers are fake!

If you did answer, do not panic if it is a suspicious call. Do not help him or her out - just hang up! You do not owe this stranger any of your time. Hang up!

Delete suspicious emails, and never open any email unless you are certain of the sender. Scammers set-up email addresses that look legit.

Shred all mail and documents with your personal information on them. DO NOT just throw them in the trash. Shred your documents to protect your identity.

Thanks neighbor, Al Prato....
  • Why did the bee get married?  He finally found his honey!!
  • What do you call a nut that sneezes?  A cashew!!
  • What do you call a paper airplane that can't fly?  Stationary!!
One MMM found...
  • I dreamed that I saw a Fig Newton crash into a Peppermint Patty.  But it was fig mint of my imagination.
A Not-Groaner from Al....
Two Mafia hit men are walking deep into a thickly forested area in the middle of the night.  Only the moon gives any light.
One of them says, "I gotta admit I'm real scared out here."
The other replies, "You're scared; I gotta walk back alone!!!"
Blonde Joke
Source:  Unknown
A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer who was also blonde. The blonde cop asked to see her driver's license.
She dug through her handbag and was getting progressively more agitated.
"What does it look like?" she finally asked. The policewoman replied, "It's square and it has your picture on it."
The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it, and handed it to the policewoman.
"Here it is," she said. The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying,
"OK, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop."......................
