Esperanza Estates Pool Is Open!!
The EE pool and spa reopened last Wednesday. During the closure, we kept both the pool and the spa serviced and pristine so they could be opened immediately when we received the Government's authorization, which we now have. The CDC reopening recommendations are posted on the pool gates, and we ask all users to read and abide by them.  Our EE rules for pool use are the same as before the COVID-19 closure.  Summer hours, April 1 to October 31, are 6 am to 9 pm.  Children may use the pool from 11 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm.
EE Water Aerobics Resuming Monday, May 18
With the reopening of our Esperanza Estates pool we can now resume our Water Aerobics Group.  Aerobics  will begin again on Monday, May 18, at 8:30 am and continue every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until further notice.  Everyone is welcome, both women and men.  Please contact   Judy Lang, Group Co-Leader, with questions at  520-648-7067.
The weekly Gardeners work party is suspended until October.  However, some gardening work is continuing.  If you are around during the summer and can help with watering and some pruning,  please call or text Rod Harp at  520.329.9103.
We are saddened to learn that long time Esperanza Estates resident, Ken Miller, 949 Regalo, passed away May 16 after a long illness.  Ken and his wife Kay have been very active in the EE community over the years, and Ken will be sorely missed.  The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.  Our sincere condolences to Kay and to all of the Miller family.

Library News

This week's Weekly Update from the Green Valley Council featured information about our local Library.

All book lovers will be pleased to hear our Green Valley/Sahuarita Library will be opening on Monday. However, there will be a lot of rules in place, limited number of people allowed in at a time, limited time you can spend in the library and rules on return/pick up on books. Since the procedures/rules are extensive, please go to to get the details. We have also sent out a bulletin.

I NEED A BOOK! With library closures, the Friends of the Green Valley/Sahaurita know that many community members are looking for good books to read. In an effort to meet this need, The Friends will be hosting a two-day used book sale on Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23 at 125 Calle de las Tiendas where internet books are kept.
Please bring your own shopping bags so you fill them with exciting new reading material. COVID-19 protocols will be in place: only ten people in the bookstore at a time, masks required, social distancing imperative.
This is a book sale to help the community during the library closures so please do not bring any book donations to this event. Donations will not be accepted. For more information and directions, please go to our website,  or our Facebook page, Friends of the Green Valley/Sahuarita Library. See you at the sale!
