Esperanza Estates' Orphan's Christmas Dinner

WHEN: Monday, December 25 TIME: 1:00 pm

WHERE: Ramada

PLEASE RSVP BY 12/22 TO

Connie Scorza – 541-647-8755 or Lynn Noble – 406-794-2509

If no answer please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you.

Please come to the Orphans Christmas Dinner! So many of us don’t have family in the area to celebrate the holidays, and no one should spend them alone. Last year was a great success with over 40 people. It was a great time!

With everyone bringing a dish, there is a smorgasbord of delights certain to put you in the Christmas spirit. Don’t spend the day alone! Come join your neighbors and friends at the Ramada.

Get in touch with Connie or Lynn. We will ask you to bring an appetizer, main

dish, vegetable/salad, or dessert. Please RSVP by 12/22/2023 so we have an idea of how many tables need to be set up. We look forward to seeing you there! Merry Christmas!

Webmaster Needed for Esperanza Estates

Esperanza Estates is seeking a Webmaster to manage our EE website. Our current webmaster would like to phase out of this responsibility. We would like to find someone (maybe more than one) in our EE community who has experience with website development and website management. If you are interested, please contact Judy Hayes, jkhayes70@gmail.com, 720-201-9260.

Yoga Classes At EE

From Patty Adler, 303-570-3159

The first EE Ramada chair yoga class is Wednesday, December 20th at 9:30 am.

We need sturdy armless chairs for our future chair yoga classes. Our first class will begin with stretching and effective breathing techniques, and we can use the chairs at the Ramada. But, we will need more appropriate chairs for future classes. If you have chairs, please contact Patty.

For those interested in Mat Base Hatha Yoga classes, our first class is Saturday, December 23, at 10:00 am at the Ramada. Please bring a yoga mat, 2 Mexican blankets, 2 yoga blocks and a yoga strap for class.

All my classes for EE residents are free (donations not necessary but appreciated). I am a 200 hour (CYT) certified yoga teacher. I teach in yoga studios and senior centers in Colorado and also here at our GV Rec centers. It is my honor to pass along both physical and mental health benefits yoga can offer to all of us. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

EE Book Club

From Hugh Rhine

Our next EE Book Club meeting will be Thursday, January 11, 11 am, at the Ramada. Everyone is welcome. We hope you will join us!

Our book selection for January is Fallen Leaves by Will Durant, likely informed in part by his wife, Ariel. Durant offers his insights on a vast selection of issues of interest such as morals, sex, war, politics and art, including his conclusions about the problems and joys we face as a species. In his 60 yrs of research and writing Durant was a Pulitzer Prize winning author and historian known for his 11 volume "Story of Civilization." Many of his books were written in collaboration with his wife, Ariel.

This book, written mostly in the 10 years before his death in 1981, was inspired by "curious readers who have challenged me to speak my mind on the timeless questions of human life and fate." Curiously, it was lost until discovered by his grand daughter thirty-two years after his death.
