EE Pool Now Open,

Spa Temporarily Closed

The EE Pool repairs are complete, and the pool reopened last Friday. The Spa repairs, however, are still in progress, and the spa will remain temporarily closed.

The Gardeners will meet 8:00 am Tuesday morning, October 17 at the Salad Bar Park on the EE Trail (behind 1113 Sur). Bring tools to weed and plant. New members are always welcome to join us.

The Hospitality Committee WELCOMES you back to EE (if you were gone!) and we are ready to party with you! We are hosting a Halloween event on Tuesday, October 31^st at the Ramada. We are hoping residents of Esperanza Estates will participate in a PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST to help us decorate! We ask that you carve the pumpkins AT HOME, and bring them, along with a delicious dish to share to our Halloween Pot Luck dinner. There will be “fabulous” prizes awarded for outstanding Pumpkin Carving!!! Of course, you may also dress up in your best Halloween costume, too, if you desire!

Time: 4:30 Happy Hour 5:00 Dinner

Esperanza Estates License Plates For Sale

The Enhancement Committee is selling new Esperanza Estates license plates. The plates look great, are durable, are $15 each and can be purchased from Jackie Rautio, 602-206-3354. Proceeds will go into the Enhancement Fund for improving and beautifying Esperanza Estates.

EE Annual Craft Sale

Adrienne Lowe is coordinating the Esperanza Estates Annual Craft Fair this year. The Sale will be held December 2 from 9 am - 1 pm in the Ramada.

with their name, phone number, what they will be selling and how many spaces they want. If a vendor doesn't have an email, they can text or call Adrienne with their info at 347-258-0205. Spaces are first come first served.

Medicare Enrollment Scam

Watch Out For Friendly Medicare Helpers

Medicare’s open enrollment period is about to begin. Also open is the opportunity for scam artists to “help” you with your enrollment decisions. From October 15 to December 7 you may be hearing from some of these scammers.

You could receive a phone call, an email, or a text from someone posing as a Medicare agent or an insurance provider. They will stress that you act immediately so you don’t lose your benefits. This phony sense of urgency may throw you off guard and cause you to fall for their sales pitch. They may offer savings of thousands of dollars, or offer a generous gift, but only if you act now.

Another trick is to tell you that Medicare is issuing new cards or is updating its information. You will then be asked to verify your current information. If you do you will reveal to the scammers your Medicare number or Social Security number.

It’s easy to think this is all legitimate because the scammers use spoofing technology to mimic real phone numbers and email addresses. Don’t let these professional sounding scammers fool you. Medicare will never initiate a contact to obtain personal information. You can initiate the contact by dialing 1-800-633-4227 if you need to talk to them. Then it’s OK to discuss your personal information.

You can compare plans yourself and change enrollment by going online to medicare.gov. Or call at the number above. If you need assistance navigating the Medicare system go online to the Arizona State Health Insurance Assistance Program (shiphelp.org) and get legitimate help.
