HOA Special Board Meeting
Results of the Special Board meeting:
A Special meeting of the Board was held on April 1st with 6 Directors in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was to select a homeowner to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Tom Cooke. Connie Scorza was the unanimous choice and has joined the Board.
I intentionally did not use the term 'replace' Tom Cooke because no one will ever replace the years of leadership, dedication, and service to Esperanza that Tom gave to us.

Swimming Pool Lift Chair Update
From Sharon Falor, 928-853-3474
Happy Spring! Our weather has dramatically improved and our Lift Chair project is drawing to a close. The generosity and excitement for the purchase of this chair has been truly wonderful. To date, we have raised 7,700 dollars. 19 residents have gifted almost $3000, The Enhancement Committee made a HUGE donation of $3000, and $1700 has been raised through Pickleball lessons to date.
I have included a description of the two chairs from Aqua Creek and sold by 101 Mobility in Tucson. Below are the details for both Lift Chair options.
ADMIRAL LIFT CHAIR:
Simple & Convenient: Push-button operation - tethered pendant can be controlled from in the pool or on the deck.
Space - Design: A small footprint and low profile make this an excellent fit for all pool decks
Smooth & Secure: Powerful motor effortlessly raises and lowers riders up to 450 lbs.
Peace of Mind: Made in the USA + stainless steel + 5-year warranty. $6,250.00
SOLAR CHARGER $518.00
PRO SERIES LIFT COVER $579.00
ANCHOR INSERTS & BOLTS $195.00
INSTALLATION. $750.00
ONE-YEAR EXTENDED LABOR WARRANTY $ 0.00
SALES TAX $648.00
QUOTE TOTAL. $8,940.61
RANGER 2 LIFT CHAIR $5,229.00
The only difference is the load capacity. This chair has a limit of 350lbs.
All other products and expenses are the same. $2,042.00
SALES TAX. $ 560.00
QUOTE TOTAL. $7,831.00
To summarize, the Admiral Chair’s only difference is its weight capacity (450 lbs) versus (350 lbs) with the Ranger 2. There is a difference of $1,109.61 between the two chairs. Currently, we will have the funds for the Ranger 2, but we would be short about $1000.00 for the top-of-the-line Lift Chair. I will be presenting both quotes to the Board for approval on April 15th. Your continued support is crucial to helping us cross the finish line.
Please text or call if you are interested in donating. I am happy to swing by your home! Once again, “When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” Maya Angelou.

Thirsty Thursday is This Week!!
We're having Thirsty Thursday, Esperanza Estates' Happy Hour, this week on Thursday, April 11th, at 4 pm at the Ramada. As usual, this is a no-host event, so everyone brings their beverages. Food is always welcome of course, but it's not necessary to bring food....unless you are hungry. Most importantly, bring yourselves on over to the Ramada for a fun and friendly visit. Hope to see you there!

Craft Group
From Bernie Olson
This week we are continuing to work on the felted coasters we started last week. We will meet at Bernies', 820 W Circulo Napa, on Thursday, April 11th, from 1-3 pm.
This will be at least a three-week project and will probably be our last project of the year, as winter people are beginning to migrate north by then.
You can still start coasters if you have the supplies:
Felting needs for coasters:
- 4x4 cork self-adhesive squares or the kind you can glue on (available on Amazon).
- Dense foam square at least 6x6 but can be larger.
- Felting needle tool that holds 4 needles-Clover makes them or a wooden set available on Amazon $14.98.
Call Bernie at 920-254-9277 if you have questions about the supply list.

Name The Owlets!!
Remember the Owl and the Fox story a few weeks ago? At that time Hootie and Blowfish (the Dad and Mom EE owls) appeared to be incubating eggs in the nest. We didn't know how many eggs. Now we discover that there were at least two eggs, because we have two little fuzzy white owlets that Hootie and Blowfish are busily feeding and nurturing. The neighbors have been watching the nest, but not too closely.
We think the little Owlets need names, but we need help.
What would you name them? So far we haven't had any name suggestions.
Send your suggestions to Judy Hayes, jkhayes70@gmail.com, and John Nesavich, jnesavich@gmail.com. We'll let you know the winning names next week!

Preparing to Head Back North for the Summer?
Source: Sandy LaVoi
It's nearly time when our Winter visitors to begin to migrate back to their Summer hang-outs. As you clean out your pantries, please consider donating your non-perishable food to our Food Collection shelf at the Ramada. Phil and Sandy LaVoi deliver this food to the Community Food Bank. However, the Food Bank can only accept unopened, non-perishable food. They can't accept anything that has to be refrigerated or has been opened. As always, thank you for your donations.
