Pool Gate Access
From Jim Gardner
The locks at the pool have been replaced for both gates. They were keyed to match the existing keys using a master key we had available. If you are still experiencing any issues with your key, I have replacements. Please contact me by text (you may also call and leave a message) at 952-232-7555.
Per the locksmith, please do not use the key to pull open the gate. The key unlocks in either direction, use the handle to open the gate. This will prevent damage to the tumbler over time.
Reminder: The pool is opened at 8:00 am but the cover is not removed until the temperature is 40 degrees or greater. I use a weather app hourly forecast for Green Valley and an outdoor thermometer. This week there will be lows in the low 30s. On most of those days the pool will open closer to 9:00AM. If you want to know if it is open on those cold mornings you can text me. I do my best to get it open as soon as possible for the morning lap swimmers and water therapy class.

Patio Pavers
From Cyndie Alto
Hello neighbors! Let's repurpose our no longer needed patio pavers! Yes...those bricks that have been stacked up in our garages for years, or the out-going ones that will be replaced with upcoming landscape projects.
Call Tom Aigner, 720-518-9505, from the Esperanza Estates "Rock Monkeys," and they will collect them and store them behind the garage.
As the pavers come in over the next few years, our plan is to pave that narrow strip next to the street, where the lamp posts are (see photos). Currently the small stones in those areas can present safety issues, as we all have seen while walking along the sidewalks. In addition to the safety concern, this will be a great upgrade to our neighborhood!

Afternoon Water Aerobics is Back!!
(Next Week)
From Penny Huculak, Zell Higgins, Robin Lockwood and Marce Pross
Please join us as we start up Afternoon Water Aerobics again, beginning Monday, January 27th at 2 pm in the pool. This wonderful activity is fun and low impact. The session will begin with a 20 minute warm up in the shallow end to get your heart rate going, followed by a 20 minute session of stretching, core strengthening and resistance work using Aquatic Dumbbells in the deep end (or shallow if you choose). We will end with a 20 minute wind-down section back in the shallow end for arm strength and muscle relaxation. Classes will be held on Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays, weather dependent, beginning on the 27th.
The top benefits of aqua aerobics
- Water supports the body, putting less stress on your joints and muscles
- Working out in water helps build strength. Fighting against the push of the water activates your muscles
- Water pressure helps put less strain on the heart by moving blood around the body
- The impact of gravity is less in the water allowing a greater range of motion
- Working out in water helps prevent overheating, helping you exercise for longer
- And… it’s fun! It is not often you can say that about a workout.
We hope you can join us for a fun way to exercise and some great camaraderie!

Arts and Crafts Group
From Janet Shown
Prepping for fun: doodling and pine needle basketry
The last class of Doodle Art will take place at artist Susanne Phillips' home in Las Campanas at 1 p.m. next Tuesday, January 21. She will be sharing her techniques for using color with doodle art, and will show us other artistic projects that she is willing to teach us later in the season.
Additionally, she is offering to allow us to use her home after the art class to prepare for the pine needle weaving class February 4 and 18 conducted by Gary Terslinger. Janet Shown will have agate slices donated by Karen Rans and Peggy Terlisner for those confirmed participants who have not yet chosen one. We will be gluing the agate pieces to vinyl backing so that they will be ready to stitch on the first basketry class.
RSVP to Janet Shown at jansho@yahoo.com or 720-749-0273 to get the address for Susanne's home or to find out how to pick up your piece of agate and attach it to the vinyl backing if you cannot be at the 1/21 meeting.
