Special Board Meeting Regarding Pool Repairs

The EE Board of Directors held a Special Meeting on the 31st of Jan to consider the Pool Replastering and Cool Deck repair Capital Project previously authorized by the Board. The entire Board was present in addition to over 25 homeowners. Mr. Victor Pena from Pro Plastering in Tucson was present to answer questions and explain the work to be completed. After an extensive question and answer session, the Board voted, unanimously, to accept the proposal for $41,747.10. 

Additionally the Board asked Mr. Pena to provide separate quotes for replacement of the remaining pavers in the pool area. Additional enhancements such as Grab Bars and a Lift are also under consideration, and will be discussed at a future Board meeting.

The next EE HOA Board meeting will be Monday, February 19, 1 pm at the Ramada

Do Not Dispose of Oil in Your Trash

Titan Trash reported an incident that occurred on January 31 during trash pickup. A homeowner in the 600 block of Nueva placed a large quantity of used motor oil in their trash. When their truck did a compaction cycle at 690 Nueva, the containers the oil was placed in ruptured, and caused a major spill in the roadway. The oil continued to be deposited the entire length of Nueva at each stop. This is the second incident in this area and will damage our roads in addition to being an eyesore on our newly paved streets.

The Shell station on Esperanza has a oil (motor & cooking) recycling collection vat.  

If the HOA can determine the party responsible for this damage, we will recover any costs or damages incurred by the HOA.

Yoga Classes Resume

Chair Yoga will begin at the Ramada Tuesday, February 6th at 9:30 am, and continue thru February 27th. Please bring a yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap (or stretch band) and a sturdy folding chair if you have one. 

I am also offering a Hatha Vinyasa Mat Based Yoga class at the Ramada starting Thursday, February 8th at 9:30 am thru February 29th.

Gardeners

Weather permitting, the Gardeners will meet at 9:30 am on Tuesday morning, February 6th, and finish the lower half along Esperanza east of Portillo. Bring tools for pruning, weeding, and clean-up. New members are always welcome to join us. Call Rod Harp at 520-329-9103 with any questions.

Water Therapy Class

Water Therapy classes will begin this Wednesday, February 7th and continue until April 3rd, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, at the EE pool. 

This class will assist people recovering from replacement surgeries, struggling with balance related issues, or those having difficulty remaining active due to chronic conditions. After suffering a severe injury last winter, I started water therapy, and I have enjoyed a full recovery. 

Please join me for our first, H20 PT class on February 7th at 9:30 am. It will be fun, yet aerobically challenging. It will give you the confidence to move more freely.

Cribbage Group

Cribbage players unite!! "Secret" meeting at the Ramada, 3:00 pm, Wednesday afternoon, February 7. If you have them, bring a cribbage board and cards (but not necessary). If the weather is unfriendly for cards at the Ramada, we'll still meet at an indoor location. Watch for an eblast email if the location changes. Call Hugh with questions, 303-249-5745.

EE Book Club

Our February EE Book Club meeting will be this Thursday, February 8, 11 am, at the Ramada. Our book selection for February is The Mitford Affair by Marie Benedict, and the discussion will be lead by Roberta Bower. The book is based on a true story. Both guys and girls welcome!
